Phil Wood has retired with immediate effect. Has got a new job and unable to commit to the time required to play. Loss for Hornets and the game! Great servant to the game. All the best!

That is seriously bad news for Hornets. Woody was the catalyst for a lot of our attacking plays as he had the skill to off both ways and opponents looked at time as thogh they were trying to catch a ghost. He was not bad on defence either.

Well played Woody and I hope everything goes alright in your none sporting life. You will be missed!

All the best to him from a Town fan . Caused us headaches up here several times with his scooting n sniping. Played above his weight , and that weight was packed with talent and effort.

Stanky's comments on the Hornets web site sum up exactly what we all thought about Woody's rugby talents and its such a massive loss to the club.

I'm sure we all wish Phil and his family every success for the future and deep down we would like to think that he manages to work around his new job and finds the time to exhibit his leagus skills back with us next season.
RUGBY LEAGUE WITHOUT ROCHDALE HORNETS IS LIKE AN UNSHARPENED PENCIL, THERES NO POINT?
