It seems a bit strange talking about the season 'Run-in' when we're only in the middle of June, but because the league only has 10 teams, there are only 8 games to go (4 Home and 4 Away). They are ..

Crusaders (H)
Skolars (A)
Doncaster (A)
Whitehaven (H)
Oldham (H)
Workington (A)
Rochdale (A)
Scorpions (H)

Current League Table ........

Team P W D L F A PTS
1 Barrow 10 9 0 1 347 188 28
2 Workington 10 8 0 2 365 146 26
3 Doncaster 10 8 0 2 385 214 24
4 Whitehaven 10 7 0 3 263 220 21
5 Oldham 10 3 1 6 250 259 16
6 Rochdale 10 4 0 6 268 287 13
7 Crusaders 9 3 0 6 196 344 11
8 LondonSkolars 9 2 1 6 226 301 10
9 SouthWales 9 3 0 6 185 320 10
10 Gateshead 9 0 0 9 168 374 2

Not sure about the mathematics of it all, but I think we need 13 more points to guarantee an end of season finish above 5th place Oldham (who if they win their remaining 8 games would finish on 40 points). However, teams will take points off each other, so the number of points we need to clinch promotion will be actually far less.

I think, barring a real spike in form from Oldham or Rochdale, the four teams at the top will remain there until the end of the season (in the same order hopefully!).

Win the home games thats 12 points. Look to win at Skolars and hairnets then to win the league leaders shield we will need to get a bonus point at Donny and Town. But we should be looking to win the lot...tall order I know but keep the faith

I posted a similar message a week or so ago on the Town forum. In seasons wherethere are 10 teams in a league the average number of points for 4th plave is 2points per match, i.e. 18 matches @ 2 points average = 36 points, with a plus or minus of 2 points. So, 4th place could be 34 points or 38 points but generally in that spread.

I think the title will be decided in the match at Town on 12th August when Barrow visit us. The RFL haven't done you any favours with playing Donny (away) then 4 days later taking on Haven!!!! I think Town's points difference could be the extra point at the end of the season.
I remember when .............................

"It is impossible not to feel a twinge of sympathy for Workington Town, the fall guys this season for the Super League's determination to retain it's European dimesion, in the shape of Paris. While the French have had every assistance to survive, the importance of having a flagship in a heartland area like West Cumbria has been conveniently forgotten." - Dave hadfield - Independent 25th Augsut 1996.

Is this season still going.. I thought it had ground to a halt? The RFL fixture planners must have been recruited from Billy Smarts

12th of Aug Should be a great advertisment for Cumbrian RL & A big gate for town as if its the title decider im sure a large Barrovian following will be up there.

Town Vs barrow should be the title decider, but were all well clear of fifth now, so I think there will be plenty more derbies next year
