Just announced today that Derwent Park could undergo a facelift as part of the bid for the Scotland World Cup games in 2013.

Thats good news in two ways! Good for WC to host thd games in a decent stadium and good for town themselves getting ground improvements. Fingers crossed!

Fantastic, the footprint of Derwent Park will be as big as any rugby league stadium in the country and if the club can get it upgraded in time for championship rugby even better!!

I can see it on the odd occasion I get over, must be over 10 foot wide. If people could see it for the last 40 odd years how come they can't now?

Just read on Twitter from a councillor its been agreed today to financially support our bid for the world cup games

Yes he claims he is contacting the RLF to complain as haven could have had the cash to improve the rec and they were selected to host the games. Apparently we are just using the WC to get free ground improvements and the will be a low crowd for the games anyway. To be fair some of them are taking sense about it but choccy just cant help himself. I think he's been banned again tonight going by some of the comments from others.
