Kiwi officials are hoping the introduction of their own ''Origin'' will dissuade the likes of Sam Kasiano, Josh Papalii and Jason Taumalolo turning their back on the country to play for Queensland. NZRL boss Jim Doyle this week came up with two possible line-ups for the game. The teams, named by Doyle on the Big Sports Breakfast radio program, were:
AUCKLAND: Kevin Locke; Jason Nightingale, Shaun Kenny-Dowall, Simon Mannering, Sam Perrett; Benji Marshall, Shaun Johnson; Sam McKendry, Issac Luke, Sam Rapira, Lewis Brown, Adam Blair, Jeremy Smith. Int: Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, Russell Packer, Ben Matulino, Sika Manu.
HEARTLAND: Josh Hoffman; Matt Duffie, Steve Matai, Jerome Ropati, Manu Vatuvei; Kieran Foran, Nathan Fien, Fuifui Moimoi, Alehana Mara, Roy Asotasi, Greg Eastwood, Frank Pritchard, Bronson Harrison. Int: Frank-Paul Nuuausala, Alex Glenn, Kevin Proctor, Gerard Beale

If a network throws it's weight behind this I reckon they could be on to something. I assume Auckland represents the north island and the heartlands represents the south island, although I'm only speculating.
What do you reckon?

It'd be good to see it happen. You can't create instant tradition but something like that with those two teams taking to the field would have me attending - if i could get there!

Melbourne Storm Premiers 2012 Minor Premiers 2011 Featherstone Rovers League Winners 2010, 2011and 2012 Grand Finalists 2010, 2011 and 2012; Grand Final Winners & Champions 2011

Wouldn't the best idea be to add NZ to the series, so you'd have Queensland, NSW and NZ playing each other once in a round robin. The teams finishing 1st and 2nd would contest the final.

No that way the Aussie Origin series would be diluted and nobody would want that.
We're talking here of establishing a Kiwi Origin which is either a goer or it isn't. I can't see the two ideas come together into a combined Origin series. Surely there'd be an outcry.
