When all is said and done, whoever is the coach or chairman let's get behind the team, it's not the players fault the coach hasn't got a clue, or the chairman pays himself a stupid amount of money when the clubs struggling financially, let's get behind the lads for the rest of the season and see what next season will bring

How much does he pay himself then? It would be nice to have the figure out in the open!

Despite everyone knowing it's lots, no one actually knows...

The RFL pay the wages of the CEO (CH), he might pay himself more on top. The hornets CEO gets around £30,000, so I can't see there being much difference (if any) between clubs. The RFL pay for a CEO, an office manager and a community officer (or they used to), with the idea that a fulltime CEO and office manager should run the club better than a volunteer.
With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!

I note from the articles about "give it a try" and NEETS in Hollinwood that CH considers ORLFC a professional sports club.
CH seems to be getting into the sound bite style of the political classes. You know, where they talk about every issue but the relevant one.
Perhaps given the circumstances he would be better talking to his customers about how he is going to get our club out of the hole we are in rather than trying to raise the self esteem of people who have no intention whatsoever of working.
Give the paying punter something to hang their hat on.

andykenny- thats pretty much what rattled mr hamilton on oldham community radio on friday, the presenter asked him very gently something along those lines and CH went off on one, needless to say he didn't present himself in a particulary good light

Mr obviously- I did not hear the radio thing but as you say by reacting in this way the paying punter has not got a lot to work with.

All we have is year on year dwindling crowds ,several failed attempts at promotion and being dumped by our council in Limeside on a pit club pitch.Add in the Quinn fiasco where CHs silence was deafening you are tested to the point of seriously wanting to know what is going on.
With no real answers forthcoming ,no view for the future I myself have concluded that ORLFC currently exists to keep CH in a job.All we get is spin and the awkward questions left unanswered. Its nothing personal against CH and I use no nom de plume .I am not going to shout at him at matches.I worked with Janet his assistant for years. But I tell it as I see it.Its not happening and I feel a new regime is needed.

This season is over -I`ll go to the home matches mainly because I have a season ticket. If CH keeps to the `more of the same` approach next season,in particular with TB,then I `ll at best choose my matches.I`m not happy doing this, but ,like alot of long-term supporters,I have no faith or trust in CH and cannot see him as capable of delivering the big shake-up needed to get us out of this mess- mainly because as CEO the buck stops with him.The worst of all is that he appears not to give a monkey`s:when a business is in the s**t,you need visible leadership communicating with fans, giving an honest assessment of what`s gone wrong and showing plans for change. And,no,the answer is NOT to say ``well,go and talk with him`` -if he hasn`t got the message,he never will.0% credibility,100% (very sad) joke.

Just a simple question really, does anybody know the state of finances at the club, what's the extent of the debt? Has Mr Hamilton said, recently, that he wants to sell? If he has, are there a number of like minded people willing to put their hand in their pockets and start some sort of dialogue with him.
For my part, it really does break my heart to see the club I used to follow all round at such a low ebb. Whilst I have some admiration for Mr Hamilton in keeping the club going and for the sterling efforts of Tony Benson in what are clearly trying circumstances, perhaps they've both taken the club as far as they possibly can...maybe it's just time for some new blood with the aim of getting the passion of the supporters back. Without "bums on seats" it's a long way back from where we are now.
From what I can gather, despite it's geographic location, Whitebank does have potential with some decent investment and it is, after all, the first real permanent home we've had since the demise of the Sheddings.

Just go onto the Companies House Web Site. Go into the search for companies and type in Oldham RLFC (1997) Ltd you can access the accounts for a few pound. There are other sites that show info about companies and their debts I think theres one called Bizzy or something like that. However the last set of accounts submitted showed the clubs debt at around £300K but it does not reveal who is owed the money. Some of it will probably be the taxman in various guises, trade companies and some may me to past and present directors. Who knows.
