Haven fans seem to think the gulf between us has gone after yesterday. They dont seem to understand that they played out of their skins yesterday and we had a stinker.

I don't think there is a massive difference between any of the top 5 sides, and I would expect haven to beat donny at home and secure us 2nd as a minimum. Our fans were getting far too carried away before yesterday's game thinking it would be a walk over. Saying we had a stinker is unfair, we played below par, but it certainly wasn't a stinker

But 4 out of 4 and 5 from 6 since haven were born is pretty good
"Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius -- and a lot of courage -- to move in the opposite direction."
"Imagination is more important than knowledge."
"We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them."
"Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. The latter cannot understand it when a man does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices but honestly and courageously uses his intelligence."

I think it's now time to forget all about Haven until we meet them again, probably in the play-offs, hopefully the final. They could do us a tremendous favour by beating our other neighbours Barrow, so let's just concentrate on our own fixtures and see where we end up.
I remember when .............................
"It is impossible not to feel a twinge of sympathy for Workington Town, the fall guys this season for the Super League's determination to retain it's European dimesion, in the shape of Paris. While the French have had every assistance to survive, the importance of having a flagship in a heartland area like West Cumbria has been conveniently forgotten." - Dave hadfield - Independent 25th Augsut 1996.

They very nearly drew. They didnt very nearly win. We should have been out of site but we let it slip. Brian Clough said to win the league you have to win even when your playing badly. Job done...... bring on the Crusaders!

We weren't at our best but we didn't play that bad either, we were playing against a much better side than we have seen on the last 3 occasions, Rooney was the main difference for them, he organised them very well.
Matty was the reason we won yesterday, I honestly think we would have lost if he had been playing for them. But on the other hand, if we had Rooney playing for us, we would have hammered them.
Our defence went awol a couple of times yesterday but in the main I thought we defended our line very well, we kept them out time and time again when they had sets of six in our twenty. If Town had that much possesion near the haven line, they would have racked up a cricket score, we looked like scoring every time we were in their twenty.
Matty, Carter and Stack were immense for Town yesterday, and once agin Olstrum was superb off the bench. I have to agree with those who thought Calders was dissapointing, he just didn't do enough for me, especialy when you compare him to Elliot Miller, his work rate was tremendous. Hopefully It was just an off day for him. ( he was still better than spongebob though
