After 6 months of trying to log on to this forum I have at last arrived. Many thanks to Penola for getting me set up.

I have been an avid follower since the start of the season and have been impressed with some of the ideas generated, and disappointed with some of the banter which seemed to get out of hand at times. The main thing that comes through though is a set of fans who care about their club, even if they disagree on certain points.

In terms of my pedigree as a Hunslet fan - well it doesn't compare to some of you guys.

As a 9 year old my Dad took me to the first match at the Greyhound Stadium against Huyton.

I was the ball boy down there for a few years - the hardest job in rugby league as you had to clamber over the dog fences to retrieve the ball!

It was great being up close to the action, the 3 things that stick out in my memory are:

1. The electric atmosphere outside the dressing rooms after Leeds beat us by only a point in the floodlight competition.

2. The Hull KR fans invading the pitch prior to turning over a police car on Elland Rd. Scary

3. The St Helens hooker (Karalius) threatening to beat the touch judge up if he flagged against him. Even scarier

I'm ashamed to say it by I am one of the fans who deserted in 1999 after the Super League debacle.

This is only my second year back in the fold and I'm keen to make amends for my treachery by becoming actively involved with HIST and supporting the club in whatever way I can.

I'm looking forward to contributing to to this forum because no matter what difference of opinions we may have - WE ARE ALL HUNSLET !!!

Cheers

Welcome castleford hawk, I was a supporter of super league up until last season. I didn't want to give up watching rugby altogether and was curious to see what the championship was like. Hunslet was the nearest, so here i am. I was pleasantly surprised to see some faces i recognised who i have seen playing before.
David March (Wakefield)
Josh Nathaniel (Milford & Castleford)
Stuart Kain (Stanley)
Lee Brickwood (Stanley & Wakefield)
Tom Henderson (Normanton & Wakefield)
Gareth Davies (Sharlston)
Elliot Hodgson (Victoria Rangers), am not 100% on Elliot, but it sticks in my mind av seen him out bradford way.

I have been to every game this season and have been impressed with a few teams. Hunslet have done well with what they have got, which is mainly due to lack of funds, but have competed well in parts and just need to build for next season when relegation returns to the division, hopefully we will have our key players back.
