There is an interesting article written in tonights MEN by Neil Barker regarding that lot at Barton.

When i had finished reading it it struck me that it was written as if to pre-prepare their fan's for some bad news, maybe i'm being cynical but that's how i read it.

He talks of their chairman trying to off load the club, the fact that the local council assisting in it's running, the fact they are loosing a number of players and can't compete with other clubs in the wages stake and also mentions the dreaded merger.

As I say i may be barking up the wrong tree but from the tone of the article all doesn't seem well at Sewageville.!!!

He may be the mystery backer the Sewage boys are looking for and has taken up a post at Sewageville.

In all seriousness, it just goes to show that this franchising thing that the RFL have doesn't work... Two names come to mind without even thinking... Crusaders and Bradford.

All of Salfords current financial problems are purely down to the new stadium, the new stadium they had to get in order to stay in Super League... Being a Swinton fan, it's hard to say this, but what was wrong with the Willows? A lick of paint and it would have been alright! A proper traditional Rugby League ground, I certainly enjoyed going there last season and in the two games the shed was open, even better!

Now Salford are stuck in a generic box stadium with a bad smell with a lot less revenue streams which is crippling their finances and soon, Sale Sharks will be moving in and eventually it'll be know as Sales ground that Salford play at!

Cheers Alan!
Looks like the reds responded to their adversity with a fine win last night.
Lets hope we can produce such a creative display on Sunday.

On the BBC TV red button last night, the mini report of the Pinks v Wires match, the name of their ground is given as "Barton Bridge".
Almost sounded as if it had been written by someone who's more football orientated, i.e. Stamford Bridge etc.

Reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated, much to Mark's annoyance I'm sure.
Rugby League - great game, shame about the administration.

As much as your opinions bewilder me at times I wouldn't wish you any harm.
