I echo Groundsmans thoughs about the injured player. Yesterday was a massive occasion for the club having mourned former scrum half and pub pest Mark Hazel's passing the week before, both teams earining hard fought victories was pleasing. I very much hope that the club can push on from this and stave off relegation in the same way St Pats did last regularar season

Talking of the Miners Steve seems we have problems with fielding teams also ,is it down to switching to summer?

No Taxi, we are experiencing difficulties with the under 18s and not at any other level. It is believed that it is down to the lack of fixtures from the U18s national League which i think has only a few teams left in. Our fixture yesterday was called off by Folly Lane unable to raise a team. Our next fixture is on the 15th July which i think i am right in saying will be our first u18s game since the 17th June. Prior to that our previous fixture was the 20th May at North Wales u 18s. So taxi we have players who do not play for weeks.

You must really be interested in LEIGH MINERS RANGERS as i do not see you putting anything on about your team presume its brow?.However i think the novel as you call it is vey well written.

Anyway enjoy the rest of your day.

to be fair he has a point the last few games miners have lost there has been no write up posted on here (for what ever reason) and when they win we get a very in detailed match report.

Which is directly linked to switching to summer , when strong clubs like ours struggle to put out youth teams because of the involvent of working with a RFL run league then surely someone must start to think has it been worth it, myself and a lot of others think not .

Don't know which team your with Taxi but I was told on Saturday that a lot of clubs in the NCL are having second thoughts for the reasons you have said and bar taking being down, also told by the same group of people that a few clubs are asking for a crisis meeting.

Maybe!

But maybe with less to do on a freezing cold wet Saturday afternoon the crowd will stop for one or two before strolling home to a warm house and the wife curled up wanting cuddles in front of the log fire which is blazing like fury up the fire back.

Yes I am but nobody listens ha ha too many with their own agendas and not looking at the game as a whole. The game is in an absolute mess 15s up as a direct result of putting the so called ELITE players as a priority.
You have heard the saying " i told you so " well I did.

The RFL wanted to do this about 4 or 5 years ago when Dave Marshall was in charge at Doncaster RLFC, Dave didn't like what he was being told to do by the RFL so he phoned me to pre-warn that the RFL where planning on sending all the service area kids in a service area to one amateur side in each of the areas to make an elite club to play in an elite competition.

Actions like this IMO shows that the RFL have no regard for the amateur clubs or game whether it's summer of winter.

Lets have a look at the NCL since the RFL have taken control (Regardless of what a few on here say the RFL are now pulling the strings) the so called development areas can now control themselves, funding towards these areas will slowly be eroded and the introductions of new championship 1 clubs are only glorified satellite service areas to filter the better players towards from amateur clubs.

Marauder please enlighten me as to what has changed with the way the NCL has been managed sinse the RFL has taken charge.

The RFL has had representation at all the regular meetings but not once have they changed anything without the approval of a majority vote by the delegates.

NCL3, WEBSITE, All part of the plan and more and more club delegates are now seeing that CERTAIN members of the NCL committee are that far up the RFL bu tt (pardon the pun) it stinks (Ask your leader at Milford, he knows)

Just take a look at Maxiegg's reply regarding elite junior teams being set up which means the better players have be taken away from their clubs, this in turn has resulted in the players left behind not getting a game for weeks on end.

I'm sure some of the people steering the elite amateur game are now looking more towards the Queens birthday honours list and not the well being of the NCL clubs <-----------NOTE I said clubs because once the elite juniors are taken away the standard will drop at the NCL clubs (If they survive), but saying that some NCL clubs are struggling to get 17 open-age players on match days and has the season reached the half way stage...While on the subject of getting 17 players is there any truth in Milford gaining some players for a short time from Queens.

The following resposes are my views only and are not the ones of Milford.

I cant see where your comeing from regarding your first comment. The NCL website are including the third division as there is no other website to show their results, fixtures etc. and after all there will be a third division next year subject to clubs approval of applicants. As for committee members brown tongueing the RFL, i know most of the committee members and this certainly is not the case.

There has been what you could consider junior elite teams since the intrduction of service area teams, and this has not meant that matches have had to been cancelled, but in fact has given the none glory boys a chance of a game if the clubs alloy it.

If you look at the clubs registrations of players, they have sufficient numbers with second teams and youth teams to manage to fullfill fixtures with 17 players. There seems to be a problem that non regular first team players dont want to step up to that level and are quite happy to play reserve grade.
It seems to be the under 18s that want to step up, but of course they have their own games on Sundays.

Regarding the players comeing from the Queens on a short term basis: this is very unlikely due to the rivalary between the clubs; If any player did come down the chances are that they were originally from the MIlford and would be welcome but would go back as soon as the winter league starts up.
IMO Milford should stick with the players they have got as they dont need short term loan players.

Best say these are my views and I don't think (like most BARLA clubs) anyone else ever comes on this site from the side I go and watch.

Plenty of free websites about so thats a load of tush......wonder if your the guy at a Leeds based club I've been hearing about ?....We had well into the 50's training in our last summer season but on a couple of occasions only managed 14 & 15 on a couple of match days and this was down to the girlie back home wanting more quality time, holidays, bachelor weekends, weddings and dare I say work.

I know Douggie very well and the history between both clubs! Thats why I question the Queens players but it's not rocket science to find out if they have, just not bothered.

Wonder if your club will be/did vote for dual registration (Pro's allowed into the NCL).....One of my take on the reason for this is not the free gangway between amateur clubs but next season the RFL are scrapping the Under 20's and they would obviously like to send these players to the best possible standard available and after the championship & championship 1 teams it will be the NCL clubs.

But there will not be any guarantee of any under 20's getting to every NCL club because the 4 championship 1 clubs who get promoted will have to run a second team and I know one of the potential clubs have more or less done a deal to take a full under 20's from a super league club.

I can understand why they used the NCL website to highlight the old Premier division from RLC.

I presume you heard good thing about me.

To the best of my knowledge only one player has come back to MIlford and he moved, in the close season back to his old club that he played for 10 years.

I personnaly dont believe or want duel registration, and i dont think the NCL will change their stance on this rule.
I think for any club to be made to play pro players on a short term loan, instead of your own homegrown players is wrong, and will result in players leaving their clubs.
