I can understand why they used the NCL website to highlight the old Premier division from RLC.

I presume you heard good thing about me.

To the best of my knowledge only one player has come back to MIlford and he moved, in the close season back to his old club that he played for 10 years.

I personnaly dont believe or want duel registration, and i dont think the NCL will change their stance on this rule.
I think for any club to be made to play pro players on a short term loan, instead of your own homegrown players is wrong, and will result in players leaving their clubs.

Depends on which side of the fence you sit I suppose but nothing bad and I'll agree that short term players will result in players leaving clubs, I'm sure we have both seen this happen on far more than one occasion.

Longman you are obviously not up to speed with the current status of youth rugby its in turmoil in the Nw with some teams only having played 7 games since March due to no community game fixtures because of scholarship and service area games. And youth players are voting with their feet and leaving the game .

It must be the same this side and in Cumbria, In Yorkshire they are introducing a Youth league back to Winter because of the volume of teams seeking a winter league and in Cumbria I believe BARLA have introduced a competition/training for the players being left behind after the so called elite have left.

Our next battle will be if Doncaster get promotion to the championship (looks like they will) they decimated us the last time they had to run a 2nd team and Sheffield Eagles have also shafted a couple of times in the past.

Well mick I went down to Leigh east tonight to see if the interest is the same at all clubs and I found 23 players training and coach Killshaw says that 5 others had rang in to excuse themselves . What also is happening is that most clubs have players playing for 16sand18s pro sides therefore playing two games in two days . So we have feast and famine which is no good for the youth game and nothing to do with summer rugby

keith the problem is we are trying to fit all into the same calender which does not work. We ironed this problem out years ago . And we are now back to square one with the Community game being placed a distant second on the list of priorities so it has to do with summer rugby .
Keith take a deeper look into the various leagues and you will see summer rugby is a problem under the current mad playing calender .

I accept what you are saying mick , the youth must be given back to Barla sorry my mistake , it should be given to a body that embraces the concept of youth and junior rugby but must have close links to the RFL as we are one game . One young man said today " I'm playing for Leigh centurions on Saturday then have to play a major semi final for east on Sunday " who are these people who advocate that kind of development . The youth is not working under the umbrella of the pro game and it won't under Barla

How many different age groups have the RFL tried to take over and run since sport England funding came on line?
How many of these age groups lasted any length of time?
Next season the Super League clubs are dropping yet another age group (under 20's)
BARLA did try to work with the RFL and throughout the RFL have always renegade on any of the agreed policies and it seems now they have the control and the clubs no longer have a say in how their competitions (If after they have taken the elite) there is any left.

Understand that as well marauder, but the problem is that Barla have lost the respect of its members and the Rfl have lost the plot regarding youth and junior rugby . A new organisation just like the NCL must be set up to run the youth and junior game nationally with communication with the Rfl and Barla , the new organisation would make decisions via its member clubs just like the NCL with no interference from Barla and the Rfl . As I said just communication on fixtures ,tours ,development and local leagues. Barla should run the local community game as it as done for decades and the Rfl the pro game as its done for generations . Youth and junior is a specialist area and needs people who know that area . The pro clubs not the Rfl will kill the youth and junior game if we let them as they are only interested in the elite players.
Tell who produced great players like Gary schofield , Andy Gregory , sean Edwards , Gary Connolly and many more . The Rfl and Barla will never get on and the kinds will suffer

If so many thought BARLA had lost the plot why didn't they get people of choice into positions where change could be made democratically or where the guys/dolls making the noise not prepared to step up to the mark?

Keith is spot on regarding people losing respect for the BARLA board , not losing respect for the ethos of Barla that still excists to a large degree but what has happened is that quite a number of leading clubs have forgot that they are BARLA .

The idea of setting up a new organisation has been muted because a present we have llittle or no leadership or representation from the Barla board .
