Bristol 12-38 Huddersfield-Underbank

Given the form that Rangers have been in, and the way they hammered us at their place, this was a much improved performance from the Sonics. We made them work hard for their win and, with a bit more quality in the final third, could have scored more.

Despite the score, I'd argue that was our best performance of the season. Bodes well for the rest of the year.

Elsewhere, quite a lot of narrow wins in CL3 - Coventry, Kippax, Hemel and Warrington also won.

Message for West Country Eagle. Tried to leave you a PM but got this message -
"The member West Country Eagle cannot receive any new messages"
Maybe you should clear your folder?

Just wanted to let you know that we now have a video of the Centurions - Sonics game on our website, so if you could let your lads know just in case they want to have a look at themselves.
Cheers, ET.

Here are the highlights of the Bears v St Albans game plus a bit of a feature that was part of the local media coverage.
Incidentally the streaker is a local radio presenter who has set himself a series of goals of attempting things he has never done before, hence the streak

Oo er! That 'West of England' division looks a bit close this year... Hang on... 4 - 30 -> 34 - 30. It doesn't appear that those Swindon lads crack under pressure.

Really WCE, is that the case? Maybe they should just replay the fixture when it suits everyone. Its a development league and people should be able to just call games off when they want to for the good of the game. What about replaying a game if the result doesn't suit one side? You know its friendly after all

Canceling a fixture is not something we take lightly. In fact we hated doing it. However when we cancelled the game we tried to rearrange the fixture to a weekend when both teams were free. You decided (well within your rights) to take the 24-0 win instead of rearranging the fixture.

Since then you've asked to play a friendly on a weekend when both clubs are free. Why couldn't we have played the league fixture then?

I believe, wherever possible, RL clubs, at all levels of the game, should help out other RL clubs. Nobody else will.

I didn't think Bristol were a club who would rather take 2pts than play the fixture. It seems I was wrong.*

Sounds like The Sonics may have caught one of the heartland bugs,

I hope they have not as I also like the Sonics and they have been one of the clubs we have used to find new methods to build a template to run our club.

Nope. Wiltshire Rhino is taking the word of his Chairman, who seems to be trying to portray us as being the bad guys when we wanted to play the game and Swindon called it off the night before. In anyone's book that's annoying. Rearranging the fixture wasn't mentioned by Swindon at all until a few days ago, when they decided they'd try it on. We did offer to go to their place to play a friendly later in the season, but that's different - this time they were due at our place (i.e didn't travel).

I best leave this to the administrators to sort out. A lot of our guys are fuming at the accusations from Swindon.

Seems fair to me, the only summer game we didn't fulfil was a home fixture (1st game of the season) Vs Bridlington, Our winter team was in a Yorkshire Senior cup final at Castleford Panthers ground Vs Myton Warriors and Bridlington wouldn't play at Castleford with an early kick-off as a curtain raiser.
