perhaps bobby gouldingI believe coaches should be given time and Jowitt has been given time.
Problem is, as other have already alluded to - Who would you replace him with?
...Perhaps Dennis Betts

I do think i am entitled to express my opinions as an individual and my vote is for warren to continue in charge until i am convinced otherwise .

MS has a difficult job does he stick with warren or go with someone who could easily turn out to be worse or try and find that that small percentage of coaches that would take the job , not put the club out of business, would guarentee do a better job than warren and mark and the players get on with ?

So you've said.
Do you know who's going to replace John Kear at the end of this season?
Warren Jowitt
No, seriously though, I heard on Sunday that JK has said he'll stay for 2013.
Why wouldn't Rams fans want Thornton? I think he'd do a job. Think it just went a bit wrong at Batley because of the time he were there and it went a bit stale. I reckon being best mates with all the team didn't go in his favour. Being a Cas may have knocked that out of him though.

Teams like Halifax, Leigh and Fev have bigger playing budgets, so they will do better. If WJ had been ale to keep Finn, Bostock etcc we would be a top 6 side, but money talks and we won't do a Bradford.
If there was some fantastic coach out there, then yes change the coach, if not better the devil you know.

Why have you met him underground.?I do hope it's Thornton. He's a lovely guy and a fantastic coach, and would fit in perfectly with the Ostrich mentality.

GFDU I can't but then i did write conceded not beaten , home and away not just home and this season and last. The point I was trying to make was we are still some distance away from the top 5. If you take the top 5 as batley fev fax Leigh and Sheffield , we haven't beaten them this season or last and picked up 3 bonus points in 17 games against them in the league.Ramite , please point out which games at home we have been beaten by 40,50,or 60 points .in fact apart from the challenge cup there is only one game where we have been beaten by more than 40 points home or away .we have conceded 60 points on one occasion and 50points once and 40 points once .Featherstone have conceded 60 points twice .
I take your point about fev it is an open league but they could go out the following week and score 50/60 points. Over this season and last we have once in the league kept them to less than 50. I can't find the last time we scored 50 points in this league.

In answer to BSJS post this morning at 9.45 am i am expressing my personal views and have only a little influence over football matters being a "junior" member of the rugby committee . My views most certainly do not reflect the clubs position regarding the coaching as such decisions are the business of the clubs directors and shareholders .
I do think i am entitled to express my opinions as an individual and my vote is for warren to continue in charge until i am convinced otherwise .
No slight intended GFDU.
My interpretation (right or wrong) was based as much on the chairman's statements as on anything else, and can certainly be said to be making 2+2 = 10.
Opinions are what forums are about after all.

Bringing the best out of the players is a fair and good point which deserves study . Lets look at some of our players and analyse their progress .
Steve crossley plucked from the reserves at the bulls and now one of the best props in the division .
Ben jones recruited pre season and also playing very well despite injury
Ryan esders signed from york and proving to be a very useful player .
greg scott nobody had heard of and looking promising
james craven improving all the time and fulfilling his potential
ayden faal was the butt of fans ridicule two years ago but has improved dramaticaly
scott spaven signed from doncaster and has improved as the season has progressed
josh tonks has improved this season as has elliot cosgrove imo .
i cannot think of any of our players who has deteriorated this year amongst those that have been playing and to my mind the player recruitment by warren has been very good with just a couple of exceptions . i reckon that with three or four aquisitions for next year we will be up there with the best in this division and i do not want personaly to see this progress interfered with at the moment .
And of those, how many do you reckon will re sign ? Craven, faal, Crossley, jones and esders will be mightily tempted by clubs who can offer better terms and prospects - I seriously doubt the others you've mentioned would even get a bench place in any of the top seven sides and possibly not even with the other strugglers so would probably stay. FWIW I think WJ will be appointed, regardless of popular opinion, and my best hope is that the club sign an experienced SL player as player/assistant coach to get the best out of the players on the field, and bring some fresh ideas to the coaching set up (dont ask me who - I don't know who we can afford). My concern is that next years coach will have a massive job trying to keep the better players and adequately replace those who leave given that another four clubs are set to join the championship, all of whom will be desperate to be away from the relegation zone, and some of whom will live beyond their means to achieve it. I believe that to compete we must concentrate our budget on a smallish squad of proven
quality and hope the coach can get some decent dual reg players as backup for injuries - that in itself might be difficult if the coach is WJ, given his king midas in reverse ability to turn hot prospects like hood, singleton and southernwood into ordinary players. If WJ does get the nod, and I'm pretty sure he will, I hope that MS makes sure that the contract involves a get out clause for the club should results be below expectation.
