Dewsbury Rams RLFC and Coates Sport are delighted to announce the agreement of an exciting new media partnership.
The deal, which will come into effect immediately, has been struck with the purpose of increasing the club’s media activities and better utilising existing communication channels with supporters.
"The communication of news and information is of paramount importance, particularly in modern times, and I am very keen to help the club perform to its potential in this area," said Tom Coates, founder of Coates Sport.
"It is my aim to nurture the club’s already strong ties with the local and trade press and forge a healthy link with the Rams’ own supporter base." Coates Sport will take responsibility for the publication and distribution f club news and information and, when called upon, represent the Rams’ interests in the external media.
Rams chairman Mark Sawyer says he is excited about the potential of the new partnership.
"We are acutely aware at the Rams of the need to improve the club’s profile and its communication channels." he said. "The opportunity of professional media support will provide us with the essential tools we need to help us improve the club in those areas and we look forward to a long and successful relationship with Coates Sport."

Good to see another Championship club looking to improve their off field performance. How much are Dewsbury paying for the service? I think some SL clubs need to increase their exposure in their own areas.

I have to say I have the utmost admiration for Dewsbury. A few years ago, when the stand at Crown Flat was burnt down and they were a bad side on the field, it looked like the end for them.
Now, even though they are surrounded by SL outfits, they have a new ground. They have recently published, ambitious plans to further expand it and at the same time stabilize their revenue base. They are punching above their weight in CC and had an undefeated season recently in CC1. They there is this announcement re the media coverage.
They are a progressive outfit with much to commend them.

Sounds like they've appointed a PR firm - ok but apart from all press releases going through them what are they planning to do that is radical and different.
The "lots of words but no substance" nature of the launch of the partnership doesn't bode well.

I think the plan is to tell their fans what's going on on a regular basis, which is pretty well rocket-science in the CC.
Believe what you see, don't see what you believe.

Most of the communcation streams that CC and SL clubs use are common sense and free to use, however paying someone to post on Facebook, Twitter and update the Club Website arent cost effective so perhaps this is the route they are taking, simple things can be the most effective. I dont think the fans will expect any world firsts but an improvement is a start.
If they manage to get an avert out out ITV between Corro adverts i'll be there!!!!

As someone who used to have to get info out of Allan Agar on a regular basis I approve of anything which helps the flow of news from a club
