Commentary online on Radio Cumbria website under RL Commentaries - London v Barrow. Now 30 - 16 to haven
I remember when .............................
"It is impossible not to feel a twinge of sympathy for Workington Town, the fall guys this season for the Super League's determination to retain it's European dimesion, in the shape of Paris. While the French have had every assistance to survive, the importance of having a flagship in a heartland area like West Cumbria has been conveniently forgotten." - Dave hadfield - Independent 25th Augsut 1996.

FFS Biffs you were supposed to win this game to not only keep your promotion hopes alive but ours also.
I suppose we'll just have to keep each warm in the league of (slow) death next year.

Is there any promotion next year or is the door closed at the end of this season?

I think two up two down will be reinstated for 2013 from what I've read.

Well then Oldham and Rochdale should be favourites for promotion next year. Surely even Oldham couldn't mess up that kind of opportunity.
That said, even if Oldham got promoted, is their ground up to scratch and could they make-up the gulf in class etc? Given how next year's crowds will be, and the resultant effect on playing budget, that gulf will be huge.
Those questions asked, I have to wonder if Oldham's powerbrokers even wanted to be promoted this season? Although I suppose that is a question the fans themselves have been asking.

I suppose the advantage, if you can call it that, is that we can't be demoted next year! If we did go up this year we'd be odds on favourites for coming straight back down!

Blimey The Art of Hand and Foot, that's almost a positive. Having witnessed last weeks game do not think us or Hornets are good enough to go up.
