we get beat at half back every week, not knocking the 2 kids who played today they tried their best but at this level we just cannot compete at 6 and 7 and no team will win in this div if you are outclassed at half back.Thought ex player Craig Moss had a very good game as well today saving 2 certain tries on Marchy and Welham plus scoring a good try.At least we got a bonus point.

They were a bit faster but apart from that not a great difference outside the half backs. If we had Grimshaw today we could have won. I hope we have the ability to recruit a bit of quality next season and Grimshaw and Ratcliffe stay. I also hope Marchy stays. Barnett did nowt today. The new lad Mapals played well

Got told Of my brother who went to the game we played well...my worry is how can we get more fans back when we lose every game, people won't pay to watch a team lose every week....and my big worry is there any chance we will win a game this season, as the thought of us going a whole season with out a win, is scarry.
My brother all so mentioned baz was getting stick, hard for me to say anything on this as I wasn't there, but we do after remember we have little money, we have no one to pump loads of money in to the team..

After a first half camped in our "25" I was fearing the worst in the second, but thankfully the collapse never came. A couple of individuals missed their tackle but on the whole I thought we defended much better as a unit.
What we're missing at the moment is a couple of players who can break the line on a regular basis. We're not giving the opposition enough to think about which means we are continually on the back foot. The return of Grimmer and Ratcliffe gives me more confidence for next year.
This year was always going to be hard, we knew that. Let's keep the faith and encourage others to do the same.
A home win against Dewsbury followed by the "banker" against York will ensure we end the season on a high.

True we did get beat again at half back, with Sam Obst and Jason Demetriou running the show. Thought Lee Brickwood was our man of the match today, with Stuart Kain Andy Yates, both having a good game too. We need Mr Grimshaw back badly , and we need to have him with us for next season, whatever that takes. Today as said earlier, with him we would have won this game.
We tackled great today apart from say three bad lapses, which cost us dearly. Keighley did look poor today though , and they were there for the taking, so i am disapointed with only a bonus point, of which i would have took before the game.
Again a thanks to Barry Eaton for giving a talk on the game in the bar afterwards, remember no other coach of ours, has bothered to do this before.

The 2 young lads we had at half back look to be similar players so we are still missing the spark which will ignite our attacking play. The 2 Keighley half backs were probably getting paid 5x more than our lads were.
Have to mention Craig Moss who I thought was the Keighley man of the match--- he couldn't get into our team about 5 seasons ago.

To be honest I didn't think the half-backs did too badly myself. Granted the kicking game sailing off course after half-time, but bearing in mind we effectively had two kids playing their first game together, whereas the Keighley half-backs have played two or three hundred Super League matches between them, I thought they went OK.
I was much more annoyed with the fact that a much better team performance defensively was spoilt by the same player missing his man and directly conceding a try as a result on two (and maybe three) occasions
.
Mapals had a promising first game and Yates, Oakes and Brickwood all featured well, but my MoM was Kain, back to his best position at full-back and looking a lot happier for it.
Whether we do win any more games remains to be seen, but this performance, following on from the one at Swinton last week, suggests we are climbing out of the mid-season trough we have endured, when the form we were showing wouldn't have seen us get within 30 points of anybody in the division.

If me and you can see the same player missing tackles why doesn't the coach drop him ?

To be honest, the gaping hole in the left side defence that was present up to two or three weeks ago seems to have largely been plugged now, and I think that is a knock-on effect of the half-back problem being (partially) resolved.
The man missing some key tackles yesterday was playing "up-front" ...

the man in question also had a huge hand in one of our tries too, so let's not pull him apart too much

Probably one of the best performances of the season from the lads yesterday. We looked up for it in many areas, although there is still a slight shortage of confidence in the team.
Good to see Simon (robinhoodhawk) in the stand yesterday.

It is far better to remain silent and be thought a fool

noticed on the hawks web site it stated grimmer was having his op on the 8th July i am afraid to say this is not the case as far as i know still waiting for the call from Mr David LloydTrue we did get beat again at half back, with Sam Obst and Jason Demetriou running the show.
