why is benson still coach at roughyeds , anyone got answer to this? because im baffled.

No one knows for sure, Hamilton apart, but my guess would be he's cheap. I see Bradford Bulls are now looking for a coach to come and work for nothing. Benson may be interested, he could be looking for a pay rise!

Allroughyed you seem not to want to blame either Benson or Hamilton,the club is now dead supporters will stay away in droves,they had the chance to put this right by getting rid of this very poor coach but now the damage is done.Nobody will want to manage a third rate club with no future or ambition.Next year we will be on a par with Gateshead playing in front of crowds of less than 300,and with that revenue how can you get new players to come to a dump like Whitebank.Its no use blaming the fans who stay away,in these tuff times there are better things to do with money than waste it watching amateurs.

I'm not blaming Benson or Hamilton, because I dont know the full facts. I do take the trouble to talk to both of them, so I don't post speculation or incorrect facts. I don't blame supporters for staying away. What annoys me is people posting on here, inaccurate information, from those people who aren't even going anymore. There is a lot I could tell you what is going on that Tony has told me,but that was in private conversations, and it would be unfair of me to breach that trust. Tony will answer any of your concerns or doubts about him , Chris Hamilton and the team. What he doesn't like is abuse being screamed at him from the terraces. His wife and son have had enough of seeing and hearing this, they are now staying away.
We are supposed to live in a civil and democratic society,so If you wish to stay away, do so. But if you want answers and reason, at least speak to the people you consider to be at fault, rather than hide behind an internet non de plume and a keyboard.

all well and good that your all chummy , chummy with benson, but how much longer does he have to be given regards to getting this club out of this doom and gloom division , i and im sure many other oldham fans are in agreement with my comments, and please do not tar all oldham fans with the same brush and saying we are shouting verbal abuse to benson and his family at the games, i for one dont partake in this behaviour, is it any wonder fans have had enough of benson and his second rate team.

FACT = TB has lost the respect of the dressing room , dunno what your private stuff with him is but i have private stuff wi others involved , CH has to make changes now or at end of season , Benson isnt that cheap they all have limits to what they think are worth

I didn't see any evidence yesterday that the players have no respect for Benson. All were in good spirits after the game. Can't see the players willingly paying their hotel expenses for the SW game if your allegation is true.

It's not on to abuse TB from the terraces and it's a poor reflection if his wife and son are staying away. Oldham fans are better than that.I think a change wouldn't do any harm but TB is loyal to Oldham whatever you think. Give him his due i've seen him talking to fans a number of times and the team still looks to be giving their all even if there is some disquiet.I think he relies too much on experience and the older guys don't recover from the knocks like they used to.We've brought too many back who weren't 100% I wasn't at Whitehaven but hear we played well but Whitehaven were just that bit better.If TB stays then getting behind the lads from now on in is even more important. We don't want an exodus of the younger players at the end of teh season.

Nobody deserves abuse, you will get an exodus of younger players and older players though if the coaching regime continues . I sound like a broken record now , sod this cba anymore !! OTID hmmmmmm ??????

All I will say is that at one point Tony Benson was being lined up as Coach of Swinton Lions, luckily Steve McCormack got in ahead of him. Hope You lot get sorted out, we had some good matches with Oldham and along with Rochdale it would have been good to see both clubs join us in the Championship next season.

personally not bothered about the bickering but BENSON has got to go show us you know rugby and get rid of the worst coach we have ever had not counting BARLOWS coaches and i know crowds would increase until the end of the season then would you please sell our club because it is not yours as you seem to think
