Sorry to see a great Club like Oldham in so much strife.Remember some of the great Cup battles we had at Parkside in the sixties when for a time Hunslet v Oldham seemed to come out of the Challenge Cup draw every year.I know everyone seems to dislike Whitebank due to its obvious problems so heres a question for you - a few seasons ago i remember coming to watch Oldham v Hunslet at a smart little ground at i think Ashton Under Lyne, the ground was compact had a couple of stands and to be fair was like Wembley compared to Whitebank.I presume Ashton isnt that far from Oldham so my simple question is - cant you move back to Ashton again?? i presume the rent would be cheaper than the money spent trying to upgrade Whitebank.Best wishes

For exactly the same reasons you didn;t want to stay at Elland Road, Batley or Bramley?

I know where your coming from mate I'd love to go back, but it cant be cheaper than whitebank - because there is no money being spent on whitebank, cant get cheaper than that - it will soon be in the same state of dereliction as when we aquired it ..........As it stands at the moment I would change the first letter to a S

Although Whitebank isn't what we would like it to be, it is home and to say "it will soon be in the same state of dereliction as when we required it" is harsh when a few faithful individuals have worked long and hard to maintain and improve what is already there. Including the improvements in the clubhouse. Yes we want more improvements but let's also be greatful to those folks who put in hard work week by week without much praise.

I'm sorry no I didn't know you are one of those who did so much to get things ready for the first game and really appreciate the work done by you and others. In what way is it in retrograde? I know there are a few who continue to work on the ground, club house etc. Only the other week some of them were working on the turnstiles. Also according to another post there is seating etc in storage from Salford waiting to be built/installed don't know that myself. But hopefully we can move forward.

Me too Tosh, now getting back to the other thread, who exactly does what role at the club? (other than CH obviously)

^{As employed staff, as far as i'm aware there is Janet who runs the office and lots of stuff from general admin to dealing with most things RFL, but then voluntary there is Publicity/Correspondence, Lottery, some admin, Welfare officer, groundsman, odd jobs on ground and clubhouse, Chaplain and i'm sure there is lots more that i am not aware of. Yes going back to the original post you are referring to, CH does do loads of stuff but surely he should be applauded for that as I don't see a lot of folks willing to come and take over.}
