16 - 8 to Queensland at half time. Some real hits going in, makes Super League look like touch 'n pass

Great game. Unbelievable. We won't get within the Aussies in my lifetime. Too good, too strong, too quick, too skillful.

the ref had a good game too,let play go on when all sorts of head shots going in,it made for a fast flowing game, can u see any of the brit refs letting the game flow, and just ignore the head tackles,we are streets behind the aussies and it will remain like that for donkeys years the exiles game tonight will look like an u11s game on a sunday morning.Great game. Unbelievable. We won't get within the Aussies in my lifetime. Too good, too strong, too quick, too skillful.

utter tosh! England players are just as strong, just as quick, just as skilful. The area where we are miles behind is defence.Great game. Unbelievable. We won't get within the Aussies in my lifetime. Too good, too strong, too quick, too skillful.
As for the refs, whilst i like that style of reffing, its a complete joke that its reffed so differently from both normal league games & international games.

Can we also mention the match comentators.
The build up, the running comentary, and comical comments; a shear pleasure to watch and listed to.
Never mind back to pinky and perky Friday NIght.

the thing is the aussies have the pick of all the south sea islands as well - so really its not just an aussie comp its really a southern hemisphere comp and there is always a steady production line of talent coming through. On todays game, NSW were beaten where it counts - at half back, Mitchell Pearce must be the worst NSW scrum half since origin started and Todd Carney hasnt fulfilled his potential either.Once again Thurston and Cronk came up with the big plays when it matters.Once upon a time it was NSW who had the killer half backs in Johns , Fittler and Barratt , not any more.Just shows how important the half backs are - and watching us this season confirms that.

Defence? I was at the game so was on a bit of an adrenaline high when I wrote it and may have exaggerated my point a bit, but how can you say it's utter tosh? The likes of widdop and heighington aren't there purely because they can defend. They are there because they're not quite good enough for the Aussie national team but they are good enough for England. There will be more like them in the future too, and they won't be there purely because they can defend.

widdop is there because he has the potential to be top class player; i seem to remember the aussie's not being best pleased at england for picking him, claiming he was all but an aussie.
heighington i have no idea, he's not good enough full stop; i can only assume that mcnamara bought into the hype that because you play in the nrl your automatically class

I think John Kear summed it up admirably when he said England where Poor the others made excuses about the inexperienced youngsters but they are all seasoned Super League players for god sake if your good enough your young enough for me and we let Hodgson and a 38 year old veteran show us how its done.
P.S They could have been inspired by watching the commitment the Aussie origin players showed us but i am afraid there wasn't any last night.
