Anyone read the article in the Chron about getting the local community involved?
Apparently the club are looking to provide work experience: Helping out in the office, stewarding, doing odd jobs around the club.

Here's an idea....Give whoever turns up a shirt and put them straight in the team for the next game... It couldn't be any worse...

Stop being so pessimistic, I'm sure the player don't pull the shirt on wanting to lose, infact I'm certain of it, if you've nothing positive or constuctive to say take your views and opinions elsewhere, because I'm sure most fans now are looking to what next season will bring and you never know we might start winning a few games

Whilst I agree with your comments about the players (no self respecting player would go on the field expecting or wanting to lose). How can you say fans are looking forward to next season already?

Because if you ask many a supporter, I'm sure they will agree that the chance of promotion this season is all but over, that being my view too, some may say there's still a chance whilst still being mathematically possible I'm sure you'll agree that it's very unlikely, I just want the lads to kick on and have a decent end to what was a hugely optimistic season that hasn't really turned out the way we all hoped

Looks to me like Mr Hamilton doesn't want to employ any staff and is looking to "slave labour "to maintain his empire and ensure his continuing wages from the RFL . He is so transparant unless you have rose coloured specs .

Or helping the community so that it helps and gives the club a push in applying for grants?
Like any organisation that can offer help to the community and it's surroundings, it can open many doors to grants for development. By accessing these grants can be the key to developing the ground and the surrounding areas.
In the meantime, in this state of uncertainty, the club are offering and helping people get important qualifications/work experience which can only be a great thing for everyone involved,a nd hopefully get people back to work. At least the club are trying to do something to help the local community.

Again, CH and the club are flamed and the story twisted to suit.

What should have been a massive positive for the club, has been twisted into another platform to snipe at Chris. If this negativity carries it , I can see Oldham ending up with no Professional Rugby club.

I personally applaud CH for this. Valuable work experience and free help for the club seems like a win win to me.

Credit and criticism were they are due please!

I must agree with the pro-CH's (oldhamer and s10c) on this one.
CH cant be slated for giving people opportunities to get back into work and also possibly ticking one of the community boxes to open up grant funding.

I would say though that if the club wasnt a one man band then this might have been done a long time ago and the whole process of getting funding and the ground up to standard could be more further on.

As regards the negativity, there's a lot of people want a complete change at the club and i'm in that camp. I doubt that it would end professional rugby in Oldham though, i believe there is life after CH if he would give someone else a chance.

In the absence of any other info the story will be twisted to suit .what do you expect?
It is not the job of the paying customer to guess what CH is up to grants and boxticking wise. Neither is it the fans job put two and two together and work out that if we stick it out at Whitebank the Council might chip in toward a portaloo or two for the local numpties to wreck.
Stories like this against a backdrop of the last few years are bound to appear like political spin.
