When I joined this forum I wanted to use the name Bill, but it was taken and so I opted for Bi11 (looks like Bill). I've used the same device elsewhere, and was dismayed to be addressed earlier this year as Bi eleven!! I hate to think what Bi s 1 to 10 look like. Anyway, it set me wondering about the user names adopted by others. Many are obvious, some less so ( e.g Blind side Johnny.....Johnny Wolford, the talented Bramley, Bradford and Dewsbury player), whilst many are a complete mystery to me. It would be interesting if users of less obvious names shared the reason for said names with the rest of us. Any starters?

London d Is the name of a Batley coach in the latter part of the 19th century and his story is told in the Gallant youth books reproduced by Bissa. In it it tells of how after losing to Batley in what they thought was a wrong decision Halifax officials and fans tried to steal the Batley players valuable and effects and London D fought them off single handedly. There is a picture of him too.

Well, my first name is Andrew, and the short form of that is Andy. Put that together with the fact I'm a Batley supporter and you end up with BatleyFanAndy

Grew up with Andrew "Piggy" Parkinson who many will remember from his stint with us in the 90's and the reason I became a Batley fan when I ventured up the mount to watch him play. Still see my mate regularly and he's still a top bloke and doing well coaching Shawcross towards promotion.

The use of numbers to represent letters stems from having to change my works' laptop passwords on a frequent basis and having to incorporate numbers and letters. I found it easier to remember words with a number representing a letter than a password with no recognisable form. It seemed an obvious device when concocting a user name. That I had not read it in any other way just shows what an innocent old blighter I have become.well Bi11, mines obviously my initials, but as for yours. i have never thought Bi11 looks like Bill.....sorry...

I used to like the grumpy old man tv series, being a kindred spirit and the ram bit is obvious - for the last couple of seasons I'm afraid it has been very apt

Connoisseurs of fine radio programmes may recall my name being announced as a late arrival at the Medics' Ball. Willie Rushton was the MC, if memory serves.
