At the Leigh game on 2nd September, it will be 2 days short of the anniversary of Dana Wilsons death and exactly one year since his last match.

Do you think it would be fitting at this game if we had a tribute to him as we didn't get a chance to do this at a game?

Am I right in thinking there is a race night after this game? If so maybe we could all put some idea's together and do what you suggested Paul?

One idea I have is if we have a supporters game and we all pay £10 to play or a donation and put to a charity, but this time only allow supporters and no ringers like other clubs.

There is a race night for wattos testimonial, the more that support this will add money to Dana's fund also as one of Wattos chosen charities is the Dana Wilson memorial fund.
The idea of a supporters match is great, i'd help out with that as much as possible.

I think the supporters game is a great idea.

Also maybe a small tribute video on the big screen in the ground as well as a minutes silence (or applause).

They have a astro pitch outside the ground to (think Leigh East use it) would be ideal venue to. Does anyone know anyone well who goes on the Leigh forum or a Leigh fan who we can have a chat about it?

This time would be great to make afamily day of it by getting genuine supporters means wide range of age groups can take part and make it a good day for everyone (no ringers).

Why have it outside the ground when you could play on the LSV pitch?

On the pitch might be a problem as groundsmen before the game etc, but would be great if that was a possibility

I played in a match on the Mount Pleasant pitch just before Batley's game V Leigh.

You could kick off 12pm and leave plenty of time in between the end of yours to the start of the main event.

First of all, we need to make sure that there is enough interest from Swinton fans to play and to approach LSV to make sure it's OK to host the game.

Unfortunately I won't be able to play myself (and that's not because I must have been the worst player to ever play for a Swinton supporters team!) but I'm happy to help in any other way.

Maybe get in touch with the club to put something in on the website or even in the advertiser to see if we can get enough interest.

I think for the reason we want to stage the game, I can't see it being much of an issue to play at LSV and to get it in the paper.

Unfortunately there`s a limit to the amount of games which can be played on the LSV . With Leigh,Swinton and Blackburn res playing throughout the year i`d have thought the max would ve been reached.
There`s always Leigh East and Leigh Miners which could probably accommodate this though.
We`re on a road to Nowhere.......................

I believe there are plans for a number of events that day, in aid of 'Help For Heroes'. I'm not sure though, whether that will impact on use of the pitch, before the game. The 'Help For Heroes' is a Leigh initiative, which Swinton (as 'home' team) have given their support to.

Lets wait for Paul to get a response from LSV if not successfull then we can contact Leigh East, I have played on there pitch a while ago it is a good pitch, I think it is one of them astro pitches but not sure might be wrong.

Then we can get some numbers together, with it being a supporters game we can have all ages playing so should be ok numbers wise, then get in touch with Leigh supporters about it. I imagine with the nature of the charity we should have a good response, good thing is we have plenty of time to arrange it.

Paul if you give me a shout when heard back from LSV we can maybe work together and get this idea going, from the supporters matches in the past we have made some good friends from other clubs and had a right good laugh (Gateshead away and my dad scoring in the corner without his glasses and you could hear him praying not to be smashed haha, to my disapointment he scored and did not get smashed, gutted). But most importantly we will be raising money for a good cause.

Just quickly can you please reply if you could play in our team thanks?

I will start I can play
