I'd be worried although the speed that things get built in Bradford will lead me to think that Odsal would be around for many, many years before anything got done to it.

Odsal is a big hole. Ideal for inert waste. Doesn't require huge investment and there's huge money to be made in landfill.

There are several other consortia that are also keen to buy the club. The consortium that has been widely publicised certainly isn't the only one.

Is this consortium being used to curry favour with the others? B)

There was actually a big queue outside the shop after Sundays game.

Fair enough, but Guilfoyle was whinging about the lack of numbers who had paid again, so it might have been an idea to sell sooner. Starnge to sack so many staff whilst sat on ready cash he's screaming out for.

1. At the risk of sending John D prematurely bald, and seeing as its over 2 weeks till the next deadline, I'm throwing a bulls thread out there.

2. I was reading in the T&A last night about the consortium looking to take over the Bulls. It said it consists of 'the bloke who owns Akbars' and a 'group of local property developers'. Seeing as they want the lease back on Odsal, am I being overly suspicious in wondering if they have other plans for Odsal and moving the Bulls to Valley Parade?

Well?

1. Good for you, let's all strive for a thread with some manners.

2. The gentleman who owns Akbars seems to have always been keen on putting things back into the community. I suppose one can have suspicions one way, but the balance is that Mr. Hussain (If it is he who ends up buying) does seem to be a man of good intentions. maybe he could be just intent on filling his restaurants, but many are m=nowhere near Bulls territory.

As for Odsal and valley parade do you have a massive desire to stay at odsal? Or would Valley parade present the sort of venue where income can be maximised and ground costs minimised?

I have to say your tweets about the investor who was only sent details by the administrator with 24 hours until the original deadline despite asking for them many times was quite enlightening. Hopefully some more details about things like this will come out when the dust settles - whichever way that may be

Note to all: If you want to post comments about legal wrongdoings, please include a verifiable link to confirm the story. If you don't have one, don't post the comment. Saves trouble all round. Thank you.

I don't see a deal coming off with this consortium. I think central funding will keep the Bulls afloat until the right buyer comes along.

I don't think it is a comment about a legal wrongdoing as immigration officials appear to be doing their job.The same immigration officials may even pay their taxes.Perhaps we can try and be kind and suggest like the conduct at Bradford Bulls the information about this particular oversight was kept a secret.

BULLS TO HOLD MASSIVE STOCK CLEARANCE SALE

Bradford Bulls will hold a massive Stock Clearance Sale on Friday and Saturday of this week as it seeks to bring cash into the club to pay for day to day running costs of the business in the short term.

Bulls interim CEO Gary Tasker said today:

“We need to raise as much money in the short term as possible. This will pay the ongoing costs, such as pitch markings, stationary, coach travel and staff wages etc. to make the business viable in the immediate future.

Isn't this the problem, they have stood still? I assume they are buying stationery as well

Aw! I was going to use that

Nope they won't, nah can't demolish the stadium to build. They are looking to build at some of the other land, plus there are many things they can do with the ground to generate space. It is leasehold too so different regs than normal.

Sounds fairly safe then MM. And just for the record, I wasn't implying his intentions were dishonorable, it's just the words 'property developers' that sound iffy.

Nothing to stop them acquiring freehold from Bradford Council. They have thrown their hat into ring to help. Give us the land cheap and we'll keep the club going. Get that and they can do what they like. Would you spend building on land you didn't own?

If they are looking for a return, the fat on the deal has got to come from somewhere.

If you operate an inert landfill site, you have to install a medium-risk protective liner, then pay HMRC a landfill tax levy of £2.50 per tonne ... £45 to £50 per load plus the operator's fee for the deposit.

Suppose instead, you secure a planning consent to have a commercial redevelopment (e.g. an industrial estate) on the land, and that it would need a preparatory engineered reinstatement to bring it up to road level, using "suitable fill".

Similar operation but no landfill tax.

Ideally I'd stay at Odsal but if push came to shove VP it would be. VP is actually nearer to me at least.

I was watching sky sports news and the banner gave something along the lines of "sky sources: the consortium deal to save the Bradford Bulls is close to breaking down", and it's to do with the Odsal lease.

Sorry if that sounds vague but I cannot quote at this moment in time as I am recording and cannot change channel. But I thought it something very peculiar.

If I can get the item from another sky box I'll quote it directly.
