On the 4th August, the Vikings of Norway will host the Lions of Denmark. Norway are the more established, but Denmark have been in the habit of winning far more than expected. Would anyone care to predict?

I'll predict an excellent game of rugby, a good few beers sunk, and some cracking totty in attendance. What do I win?

In light (*) of the fact that there is a midnight sun marathon in Tromso in late June, Norway could hold the first game of RL to kick off at midnight without floodlights....
I was in Tromso recently - do the RL team play at the University?
(*) pun intended

Slightly off topic, but I heard Denmark would be playing the RAF at Headingley this Friday as a curtain raiser to the Bulls game. Anyone know if this is correct?
EDIT: I've been in touch and this match has been postponed, which is a shame as I've booked the day off work so I could get up to leeds in time to watch it!

I notice that on the website norway claim 12 RLKs (rugby league klubbs - love that!) but i cant see ay table and in round 3 only four teams played a game. Are the others development teams? nothing wrong with that just curious.

Crusaders RL to get a franchise for 2012 onwards -WRONG
Widnes Vikings also to get a franchise - RIGHT
Crusaders RL to do the double over Widnes and finish five places ahead of them -WRONG

I will be in Oslo that weekend, helping out as I can. I can therefore report back on progress in Norway after that.

IIRC they split it into two divisions.
On another forum it was reported that they have almost a thousand payers, one club has just moved into it's own facility with a stand, etc, and that after initially being very obstructive the Norwegian RU is now desperate to get involved and work alongside the RLN. Personally, I'd tell them where to go but they know the local situation a lot better than any of us.

Stand in Norway as on 15-7
Tromso 6pts from 5 games
Oslo 6/5
Bodo 4/4
Porsgrunn 4/5
Flisbyen 2/3
On a side note Tromso to Porsgrunn is 1877 km - 1166 miles !!!!
To Oslo is 1735 km (Flysben also in the Oslo region) 1078 miles
The "Derby game " v Bodo is a mere 605.km - 375 miles.
Players pay their own travel so its some commitment to play the game in Norway.
