Looks like we are stepping up our efforts to get Rangi to the KC reading into the story I could see a cash and player exchange on the cards. Mr Pearson is certainly going all out to get a decent team together for next year.

Why don Dull just sign every cas player and have done, where their scouting begins and ends.
Hope Steve Ferres says the price isn't negotiable. Pay up or p** s off.

The annual Rangi Chase rumour mill has kicked off early this year.

Cas can't lose with this really. If he stays they have one of the best players in the comp. if he leaves they get a big transfer fee and a huge chunk of their salary cap freed up to sign a few decent players in his place.

The only way they can fail is by shooting themselves in the foot by letting him go too cheaply.

Could be a good move for him

Cas spent up to keep him last season and the team around him doesn't seem as good, now he needs players that can work off him

Personally, I wouldn't pay that much for him. I don't think the club will either.

He'll take some managing, but he has to be better than what Hull have already got.
Astute analysis from a Wigan fan:

Rumour going around Headingley that Wire will have to play the second half with 12 men.

It seems that they forgot to bring the half time oranges, and Solomona ate Chris Bridge instead.

Don't know why he was hungry, as he looked as though he had eaten the whole youth team before the game started.

Watching the (non) performance of our half backs yesterday, it's difficult to argue with that.

did you go mate ? Our hallbacks were awful. Seymore is too slow in everything he does, once again his kicks are getting charged down and Horne struggled to make any impact at all. We are going to get the same next week if we don't improve. Horne to FB, Whiting to 6 and Mcgoldrick in the pack if you ask me.

Watched it in Clarence, mate.

Seymour just isn't reading what's in front of him. I don't like knocking him because he puts his heart and soul into the game and he will have been desperately disappointed with his performance yesterday but his errors must have been worth 18 points to the Dragons. In fact the whole team's impressive ability to turn attack into defence stood out again yesterday.

Not quite a done deal, another club may well come after him now that Cas have lowered their asking price: http://www.thisishul...tail/story.html

I really don't know how I feel about this, but my initial reaction is that I hoped Hull FC would aim higher, I think.

Anyway, regardless of whether he comes to us or not, he should not be in the England squad and that will always be my opinion. The man needs a visa to play here, FFS.

Aim higher than the Man of Steel? Really? That's setting yourself up for disappointment then!

I'm concerned about his behaviour, but it's a huge step in the right direction getting a quality half back that can quite frankly create something out of nothing (which is what he's probably going to have to work with!). Getting him in now will give him and Seymour a test of their partnership, as there's rumours of a new scrum half coming in as well.

That will teach me to not be lazy and to qualify my remarks correctly!

There is no doubting that Chase is a quality player, but I wonder whether he will "go missing" as happens to a few players when they sign for bigger clubs. He worked at Cas because he had the team set up to suit him, a bit like we had when Cooke was with us. Some players require a sizeable shift in the team around them to regain the form they had with their old club. Take them out of that set up and their effectiveness may be diminished. The other side to that is whether we have the players to support him at the mo'. I suppose Hull FC will look very different next year, so perhaps my fears may be unfounded.

In my mind I cannot extricate the player from his off-field actions either. FC have had their share of badly disciplined players in the last ten years, and I sincerely hope that Chase will clean up his act and be a professional if he does come here. The last thing we need is another one with an attitude problem, no matter how good he is. I hoped that FC would aim higher here and sign players with a proven degree of work ethic and professionalism.

But perhaps you're right and I am setting myself up for disappointment! :D

If he does come, I really hope he proves this doubter wrong. After all, despite being perpetually skint, she will be contributing to his wages!

You're being daft - We wouldn't have Carvell back in a million years ~fatmoneygrabbingbleeder!
or Crabtree #heartofalion - a Dandelion!
Slater is becoming injury prone and would cost to much as the cash is earmarked for Widdop.

Do keep up lad! ;)
