Fax off to a flyer with two tries in first seven minutes to Tyrer & Fieldhouse and two Tyrer conversions but Lions had some great pressure on line rewarded with a Mills Try and a Mort conversion.

Ian Mort in the second try on nineteen minutes but missed conversion but i just got better when Armstrong put a nice kick on the floor down the left and swept it up to put Ashall in for the try and Mort converts this time

Two tries in three minutes now as the Lions brave effort seems to be fading.

Barlow firstly and then Fieldhouse completes his hat-trick and Tyrer adds one more conversion,

Riggy,Im sure it was Ainscough who put the little kick through for Ashalls try.

Too many mistakes and out muscled in the end but a great effort again from the lads. Great entertainment and atmosphere.
Though Ianson and Ainscough played well and Morrison was awesome. Penny tried his heart out and could not be blamed for that awful bounce.

Dispite the scoreline I am a very happy Swinton fan once again, thought the effect from all 17 players was immense. We are not million miles away from being a tough side to beat in this division. I'Anson was quality and for the first time in a long time we did not miss Watson and he is a replacement for when he calls it a day, also his link up play with Ainscough looks like it is heading in the right direction the more they play together.

All these close matches and the more experience we get will set us up nicely for next season, also the support we gave towards the lads for 80 mins was great and nice to see the amount of fans which turned up. Things on the pitch are heading in the right direction we now need some information on the ground, there is no point putting a winning side together if we are moving from piilar to post.

A really good effort from the Lions today. We made some silly mistakes and gave 'Fax some easy tries in that second half but we never gave anything less than 100%. It was good to see Ashall, Reay, Holland, Hurst and Meekin in the 17. Reay and Holland were out on their feet in the last 10-20 mins and it showed in the late tries scored by 'Fax. I'll go as far as to call them "soft" tries (especially the last one).

We scored the try of the game with Ashall's effort and I thought he had a particularly good game after missing the last few. Although he did go off injured for the last 15 mins, any news on him Riggy?

The ref was particularly bad for both teams IMO, he didn't have a clue for some of the decisions. We got 2 pens in the first half and I have absolutely no idea what we got them for. Not one forward pass was given against 'Fax which I find quite strange. Most probably because us Swinton fans were stood behind the sticks. 'Fax were good though and well worth their victory, far better than when we played them at the LSV.

We had 2 sets of six when we were 16-12 up and we should have scored again, that would have given us a far better platform going into the second half and a bonus point would have been within our grasp. Anywho, onwards to Dewsbury next week, 7th place is looking like the best we can hope for this season so let's hope for a win!

Sorry Keith sorted now.

Hi Bryce. Didn't get a report on Ashall but Clarke needed 10 stitches in a cut on his ankle. Darren Hawkyard pulled out with tight hamstring.

Thought everyone gave 100% today and Steve Mc was the happier of the two coaches after the game.

Restricted to listening on Radio Manchester this week, who gave some very welcome decent coverage for a change. Trevor Hunt is undoubtedly one of the best commentators around. It wasn't really a surprise result given the players that were out injured and some of the replacements not having had much rugby recently. Fax are a very talented side, their achilles heel this year has been a slight lack of consistency.

Surprised that Mark Smith was put on the bench. Does anyone know if Ritchie Hawkyard was injured or left out? Without Walker, Riley and with D Hawkyard still having hamstring issues the squad is currently a bit light in the forwards.

Dewsbury next week is more of a winnable game. Did it last year! It would be nice to add to the tally of 4 wins, as that doesn't reflect the competitiveness the side has achieved in the majority of matches.

However this season is starting to run out of steam a little.

The next really big question on-the-field is: Who from this year's squad will be retained for 2013? This will be key to building on the competitiveness the side has achieved so far in 2012. Hopefully we will be able to look back on this season as one of putting good foundations in place, rather than an opportunity missed while there were some talented players in the side that may be difficult to replace if they move on.
Rugby League - great game, shame about the administration.

After the last couple of weeks, I would start looking at Ainscough and I'Anson at 6 and 7 they are starting to build a good understanding and with a good pre season I think it could be excellent combination next season. Also I thought Mort was brilliant yesterday and pulled some try stopping tackles I would retain him.

The forwards who came up with us from last season have all impressed me at this level especially Mike Morrison, I thought his size would let him down but he as been outstanding. All our forwards playing and learning of Smithy as been priceless and will set us up ready for next season.

I have full confidence in Steve Mc in retaining and building a better squad for next season.
