Good Morning All

As you are aware we are trying to organise a supporters game before the Leigh match to raise money for Dana Wilson fund, following discussions at Halifax and due to Alan's age we have decided to make it 2 handed tig.

The stage we are at is, we now have a team and Paul is waiting for a call from Leigh to sort the venue out and then we contact Leigh and put this to them, Paul is hoping to have that sorted by end of this week. Please see below are the names we have so far:

1) Andy G
2) Barnie
3) Tony G
4) Dale G
5) Mark Richardson
6) Blakemore
7) Alan
8) Alan Son + mate
10) Duffymoon
11) Dad&Lad
12) Horsey
13) Chris Gettins
14) Paul Davidson
15) Wadey
16) Danny Bentham

We could still do with couple more to make interchanges up which we will need and most important to raise as much cash for Dana charity as we can.

If you wanna stick your name down then feel free.

Stuck on the flipping wing again!
I hope I don't stand "too narrow" in defence or philh will have a field day. My value set could get destroyed in one stroke of his keyboard.
Philh I hereby invite you to do the match report.

Put a shirt on yes, but as for playing - I now have far too many loyalty points at Wrightington Hospital (where Mark Smith works on the ground staff by the way); if they had one I'd probably qualify for a Platinum Card!
Rugby League - great game, shame about the administration.

If Leigh select a team made up of current Miners and East players I won't be able to keep up with the score. There you go - that's got you fired up!

Hi Greengrass - yes please put me down (again) - hopefully we will have a few training sessions - then I can see whether my old bones are up for it.............:) - as for position I have played in most positions in my time ............mainly in the pack I always preferred hooker - in the days when one had to win the ball in scrum........so again showing my age.

No problem Wayne your name is down, yeah we will meet for few sessions before the game.

Got 17 now but with the wide range of age group we have there will be few interchanges if anyone else fancies it please let me know , plus it will raise even more dough for the charity fund.

We could do with getting some of those Velcro tags that are used in tag rugby, much easier to determine when a tackle is made with the Velcro being ripped off!

They are expensive on the net but I'm sure some local schools must have some and as its for charity would lend us some.Maybe Steve Mac as he's a teacher may be able to put us on the right path?

Reply from LSV:

Dear Mr Thomason

Thank you for your original e-mail dated 10th July regarding the possibility of playing a 'supporters game' prior to the Swinton Lions v Leigh Centurions match on Sunday 2nd September and may I apologise for the delay in responding.

As both John and Paul Kidd have indicated it will not be possible to play this match on the Stadium pitch as the match between Swinton and Leigh will be the first game following the pitch renovation works and it will not be in a condition to allow additional fixtures to take place on it.

With regards playing this match on another of the pitches located on the site I can confirm that it is LSV Co that you would need to speak to in relation to this however unfortunately the other grass rugby pitches will also have just been renovated and will not be able to accommodate a match on them. I can however confirm that the 3G rugby pitch at the Sports pavilion may be available depending on the time you are proposing to play the match and should you want to progress this option further please contact the Duty Manager at the Sports Pavilion on 01942 487894 who will be able to advise on availability and prices etc.

Should you need to discuss this matter further then do not hesitate to contact me and may I take this opportunity to wish you all the very best with your match.

Regards

James Ditchfield
Operations Director
Leigh Sports Village Co Ltd

I'll contact them next week
