Plenty of people on the main forum claim to be fans of the international game and rarely if ever post anything on this forum. RL apathy strikes again.

I don't post much on this section, but I do read pretty much everything. And the threads do have a decent number of 'views'.
"Journalists are meant to be neutral, for God's sake." - Stephen 'Wiggy' Jones

"Perhaps it would be better that future criticism of sports be made on the narrow basis of what is being discussed, without reference to other sports, unless those sports offer a solution to the problem in hand." - Brian 'Pigface' Moore

"What happens in rugby union? A player takes the ball, moves forward a little and gets tackled. A whole load of players then roll about on the ground. Pheep! The referee gives a penalty." - Simon Barnes

You do post though. Do the majority who view the posts on this thread not have an opinion as they seem to have on the general forum?

My Sky+ didn't record this for some reason. I've tried asking PS if they're repeating it at all but they're not responding

A lot of the threads on here are more information based (press releases, squad news, fixtures etc.) so I suspect a lot of people read them but don't feel the need to reply. I also suspect when a lot of people refer to the 'International' game, they simply mean England matches (and there's a hell of a lot of RL fans who aren't even bothered by that.) The General forum is basically idle chatter and is getting less and less informative all the time. I've never been as prolific a poster as many on here, but my posts are becoming less and less frequent. Every other thread on the General forum seems to consist of talk about p+r or how badly the RFL are supposed to be doing. It gets very tedious at times, especially when you get the same people's opinions being brought up time after time.

Totally agree. The "ironic" threads that are now appearing are a step too far for me and I'll be limiting my posts to this forum in future.

Bit of an overreaction mate?

If you don't like certain threads then surely its best just to ignore them.
As for the other point, with the constant RFL bashing on twitter and elsewhere from RL journos and ex players I think its fair game to take the pee a bit.

Not really John, and I'm not the only one who thinks this way by what I read. The arguments are both tedious and condescending from the same handful of posters week in week out.

If you don't like certain threads then surely its best just to ignore them.

If I did that then I'd end up reading about two threads a week. I'll read them until the inevitable happens and then I'll ignore them.

DP, but if others never post, then the people you refer to (which might include me for all I know) will just dominate.

What you and others should do is post your own threads about things that interest/annoy you.

There's a certain clique on both sides of the argument who dominate the general forum and I'm sure if I posted a thread it would soon be derailed. If they end up with only themselves to argue with ad infinitum then they'll have got what both parties deserve. This isn't the only RL forum in the world John. The LU forums and RL Planet forums are far better for the general quality of debate but of course they also have a few tedious posters too. They are both Australian based 'sites too.

I know exactly what you are saying pom but you get that everywhere. IMO the answer is for others to start something and let it be known there are inbetween opinions. :)
