Could this have implications on Agecroft?

why not use the willows alongside salford, the economic climate as it is it makes sense for 2 teams to share one venue, they'd better make their minds up quick as i drove past the old willows variety club/the ground and it has been vandalised especially the club end. It dosent surprise me that salford are in dire straights no assets to speak of apart from players, not enough crowds to cover the bills, it looks like another bradford bulls on rugby league's hands. Ps its not offen i agree with a salford fan but i can see his point about lack of communication/transparency/ongoing concerns. And as for agecroft not a chance in this present financial climate.

Does anyone fancy donating to "save our Salford"?
...Nah, me neither.

Another example of the catastrophy of franchising. So in less than 12 months, that's 3 clubs that could have entered administration at Super League level!
Personally, I blame the RFL for Salfords financial problems. The original plan for their stadium was a 20,000 capacity stadium including a casino and a hotel. All that went out the window because of the warning letter Salford got along with Wakefield and St Helens a couple of years ago basically saying 'sort your stadium out, or we'll chuck yer out'!
So... Salford quickly propped up what they could in time at Barton by any means possible which includes them not owning it and paying a rent which goes against their original plan and get it ready in time for this season to stay in the league. They lost a lot of revenue and have more outgoings because of this and are now on the brink of going into administration and maybe losing their licence.
Salford are in the best form they've been in in Super League since they made the playoffs in 2006 and that means nothing these days because it's about what happens off the field.
Personally I hope they do move back to the Willows, a proper rugby league ground with real history and maybe we could move in with them until Agecroft is ready.
From a personal perspective, I think it would be great to have Salford in the Championship next season simply for the fact we'd have two derbies to look forward to and maybe bridge the gap that currently exists between the clubs because of Mr Mudoch and co and have a real rivalry once again!

Understandable worries from some Salford supporters, albeit most of it has no proper basis. For example, far from being kept as a contingency plan the Willows is well into the process of being gutted. Many of the seats are now in a warehouse in Oldham, having been donated to the Roughyeds.
While the RFL has many areas needing massive improvement, the botched move to Barton has owed a lot to misjudgements on the part of Salford RLFC and Salford City Council. A few too many people have believed their own publicity, which unfortunately for them bore little resemblence to the real world.
Starting with the total misconception, driven by the local version of political correctness, that Barton is organically part of Salford - simply isn't true! The new stadium should never have been built there.

Rugby League - great game, shame about the administration.

Didn't someone recently say they have had their rent lowered to a "peppercorn" status? Condiments!

The new stadium should never have been built there.
I said that years ago by saying that if I were a Pinks supporter, I would have passionately wanted the new ground to remain in what we normally refer to as Salford PROPER, i.e., Salford's pre-1974 boundaries and not in some other town as we have now, Barton, ECCLES (M30).
