In all honesty though i rate the guy but i just did'nt know why we wanted him {if we actually did want him in the 1st place} Because as good as he is i thought we would have gone down the looking for an hooker route.

Let's just say I believe he was being courted by Fev, but decided to stay at the Mount.

He must have wanted too much money at our place DP would'nt sign a player if he thought his wages out weighed his skill. If that is the case looks like you guys wont be bringing in many new faces if his wages are too demanding.

Awesome re-signing. Even when the Fev rumour was going round I'd heard he'd already made his mind up to stay at Mount under John Kear and with a good set of lads. Apparently Dane Manning and Handforth also miss the craic at Batley.

You know that arrogance thing people talk about. Actually, this is brilliant, you make a totally unsubstantiated comment, and then use that comment to surmise what we may or may not do in an unknown future!

How is that arrogance? Please enlighten me I would think if we were after a player at the minute and he did'nt join us i would assume it would be wages. But i dont know but their is never any arrogance meant in my posts. As i have seen our team in the gutter so many times so arrogance is never a factor in my posts it might come across that way but its never meant that way.

Because the implication from what you say is that the only reason he did not sign for you is that he wanted too much money and DP chose not to sign him becuase of that . . . . backed up by plenty of evidence. The follow up from that is that, as he is costing us so much money, we will not be able to sign other players of any quality for next season.

Ok i will admit that might have come across a bit arrogant after reading it back but honestly i never mean to put arrogance in my posts maybe sometimes it might come across like that and i appologise if you felt it did.

Then you are naive! Players may not want to join you for a number of reasons. The arrogant bit is the tacit assumption that you can get whoever you want whenever you want. The point in the Black case is that he might, just might prefer to stay with us rather than go to another club!

I know we cant get anyone we want but i just thought with him actually talking to our BOD and DP that the wages must have been an issue.Anyway we will just have to get penky then

Come on Gaz , you know Batley wont/cant offer players silly wages to stay , its about the team not the player at Batley , so Blackie might just have loved his season as a DOG , and wants to be part of it for another season

You could be right bob but like i said in my previous post if he took the time to talk to our BOD and DP then i would assume he would have left if the wages were what he wanted just my opinion though.I mean how many players stay at a club just for the craic its all about money these days bob.
