Think the word legend may have been misused in this instance.

Don't think he ever played for Batley did he? Was Lythes or Maun's testimonial dinner put up on the Hunslet forum? I think this is what 9'oller is getting at, what has Chappy ever done for Batley? Likewise Stevo et al

With respect, I don't think Lythes and Maun should be used in the same sentence as Chappy and Stevo. Chappy was a legend at Fev, his best days. Stevo was a fabulous player, one of the best. His Sky commentary maybe questionable but no doubting his standing within the game. I do agree though it is a subject for the Fev,Dews and Hunslet forum.

hunslet josh, thanks for the suspect expletive and accusation of being a 'key board warrior'. Unfortunately i think you will find i am a traceable chap and approachable on all things rugby league.
'chappy' in my opinion falls into the category of being one of dewsburys finest, quite march'esque and a lover of the niggly behaviour around the ruck. If he is on your team a sure hero however as an avid Batley fan he has done nothing for me apart from rising the blood pressure.
Now i suggest you return to the frequent tumble weeds at South Leeds stadium and count yourself lucky that you have been spared 2013 emotionless fixtures against skolars, crusaders and gateshead due to the inept management at red hall.

Cant comment on him as a person as never had the pleasure, but as a player he was and will only ever be liked by the clubs he played for.
He was just one of those players.
He was just one of those players.
What we're dealing with here is a complete lack of respect for the law

I've always disliked him as a player, "unsportsmanlike" is the kindest way to describe him. However, as a person, in the same camp as BTJ. As has previously been stated, I doubt you'll get many Batley supporters turning out to support a testimonial for him. Just how it is.

Hmmm, unsportsmanlike, im not sure about that, bit of a niggler ill admit but i dont think he fits into the unsportsmanlike mould like a lot of the blatant cheats which frequent the premiership football grounds over the winter.I've always disliked him as a player, "unsportsmanlike" is the kindest way to describe him. However, as a person, in the same camp as BTJ. As has previously been stated, I doubt you'll get many Batley supporters turning out to support a testimonial for him. Just how it is.
Anyway, whatever you think of him he was a bloody good player and one who the vast majority of supporters from all clubs would have liked him in their side rather than playing against him.
He was like Paul Mansson in that you either loved him or hated him but couldnt deny his skill.
