We have an 8 point start on the coupons.Dewsbury have been decent at home and know how to make best use of their narrow pitch, with our well documented injury problems it will be a big ask for us but not impossible.

Looking forward to the game. It's a real yard stick for our progress so far, however having said that I'd suggest we have generally played better against the top teams .

Not quite as confident as you due to the pile of injuries we currently have.
However so long as the lads who take to the field put the same effort in as the teams have all season then I will be more than happy in defeat.

We've not been brilliant away from home which is understandable really. But we put 28 past Halifax, only the second team behind Leigh to have put that many past them. We need to sort out our defence. If we can do that tomorrow, we will get the win. Not sure how many we've got out tomorrow, but here's my team...

Mort
Dodd
Reay
Armstrong
Penny
Ainscough
I'Anson
Morrison
Smith
Mills
Cuniffe
Hawkyard (Clark if Daz isn't fit)
Forster

Ashall
Hurst
Meekin
Holland

Genuinely can't believe we've lost that. And I didn't think I'd say that when we went 26-0 down. How the ref allowed the last try to stand is just ridiculous. A blatant push on Ainscough (the same reason his try was disallowed) was ignored. It would have been a pen, and with Mort on kicking duty it would have been 26-26 and a Swinton ball with 4 mins left. Shocking refereeing, and it was at the end of a long line of strange decisions. The drop outs in the 1st 10 mins were also blatantly not so. Dewsbury winger 5 yards offside for the 1st and Reay caught it in goal!

Unfortunately the referee won it for them today, although our first half perfomance didn't help!

We need Mort back at fullback for the next game, it really shown he wasn't there, wasted on the wing!

It was one exciting game! We had absolutely nothing in attack for 50 minutes then Dewsbury stopped getting field position and possession gifted by the clueless Mr Turley and we were back in it . Without his help they struggled to make yards.
We were however out muscled for the first 50 minutes and forgot how to play rugby. After that we shouldve and wouldve won, however,
what was Ainscoughs try disallowed for? A bizarre decision.

For me Smith was awesome. Darren Hawkyard and Watson werent quite match fit but Ritchie was amazing. He should be our impact hooker for me .
So near yet again.

It couldn't have gone much worse for fifty mins. Into the wind, countless decisions against us, Dewsbury running hard and fast, Turkey (fraudian spellcheck) taking them back a skinny 10 and us sometimes 15! (not imagined but fact). I would have been well happy with 10-0 at half time. 10 mins into the second half and I was bored and playing with my coat. Then the fireworks started! So near but only a 1 point cigars. Gotta play for 80 mins at this level!!!!!

The wind was crucial factor in the game and that along with the referee made it a proper game of two halves. The wind made it so difficult to get any sort or field position in the first half. Agree fully that smith was awesome - kicking, passing, running and tackling. 0-0 after 20 showed some good defence and we probably lost it in the first part of the second half when we had the wind and they ran in easy tries. Thought their 17 was great so probably a good job he was on the bench for most of the match!

I think for a neutral today's match would have been very enjoyable...............I felt as if I was sat with kindred souls in the main stand - as a group of Dewsbury supporters kept saying that they still might lose and that was when the score was 26:0 ..........actually I do also think the disallowed try was harsh and yes there was interference at the play the ball - but Swinton only got going in the 2nd half on the back of some excellent kicking - first half was woeful.............aa was Dewsbury's second.

Exactly my thoughts too! As I was leaving the ground after the match a Dewsbury fan said he couldn't understand why it had been disallowed. I think that more or less says it all about the ref.

I think one of the Dewsbury defenders was either held back or pushed out of the way in the build up to Ainscoughs try.He did seem to go through rather a large gap.
