this was taken from superleaguefans.co.uk

just wondered if people think it may happen.i hope so but very much doubt it.

The RFL is to consider reintroducing promotion and relegation into Super League.

BBC Sport

reports that the RFL is to consider reintroducing automatic promotion and relegation as part of a review ordered by Interim chairman Maurice Watkins. The review, which will be led by RFL chief executive Nigel Wood, is scheduled to begin immediately.

Interim chairman Watkins told

BBC Sport

: "A further discussion about the sport's future direction should quickly follow. We are focusing particularly on the size and structure of the leagues, licensing and promotion/relegation and sustainability of clubs."

Promotion and relegation is a hot topic among fans since it was removed from Super League in 2008 when the RFL introduced a 3-year licence scheme.

Would you want to see promotion/relegation come back? Would you also want to see fewer teams in top-flight Rugby League?

Would this be for Bradfords benefit if they got demoted into championship, so they can get straight back up into super league or is it a genuine attempt at re-structuring the divisions?
I thought they were re-stucturing for next season by promoting 4 teams from championship 1 into the championship.
Its time all clubs were checked financially to avoid another club going into administration.

I think its more of if we or fax go up the bulls have a chance to go back in at our expense. Then the RFL win both ways by demoting bradford and doing the right thing and then when they get back in they will turn round and say its not working and cut it off again IMO

If Bradford do get demoted,it will be Halifax or Featherstone who will be the most likely to replace Bradford. If its Featherstone who make it into super league, then they will use Bradford to get rid of Wakefield or Castleford, because the rfl wont want 3 teams from the Wakefield district in super league.

I agree but thats why the RFL are fools because us c*s and wakey on derby days would generate loads of income through the gates. Our crowd at fev is'nt big enough for SL yet but i bet you if we get into SL we will get alot of turn coats coming back that have strayed to watch c*s and wakey.

Judging by the way C*s are off loading players and have turned away Feisal's offer then they are also in dire straits !!

I think it's time for a move to end Nigel and his mates control of the game as they have been 'found out' .

Maybe then Rugby League will then be admired instead of humiliated by other sports !
