Let's hope the myopic pot plants at Red Hall can start seeing what is wrong and that the franchise system is not going to mend it!!!

The RFL will look at P & R just like Lord Nelson at the Battle of Copenhagen when he supposedly held his telescope to his blind eye, saying, "I see no ships" They need to review 14 teams in SL 14 in the Championship and only 10 in C1. 12 or 13 in each would make a season more financially viable imo!

To be honest Mal, if they are only going to pay lip service to the question then there is no point in doing anything so I have to assume, and yes I know what assume does, that they will address the problem and look at it with some clearness of mind and give all clubs the chance to have their say about what should happen. After all, the reason to stop P&R was so the clubs could stop relying on imports as they could use young British players even at the end of the season. This has sadly not happened and we are still bringing in masses of antipodeans who really add nothing to our game.
I'd be interested in the fans' reaction to the piece in today's programme re the possible chages to SL.
If people want to have their say and comment on it positive or negative I will print them, within reason.

As with expansion, so with P & R, I doubt Red Hall will admit it was wrong.
If indeed there is change to the system, I expect they will be minimal, and full of caveats.

A long read.
It seems that the promotion/relegation issue is solely to/ from SL and can only be dealt with following agreement of the RFL and the club shareholders.
No change there then!
Perhaps there will be no change affecting C1 and C at the close of this season?
Next season, I believe that promotion and relegation between C1 and C resumes...unless the RFL move the posts, again.
Interesting: profit is distibuted 60% SL, 30% the Championships; SL and the two Championship divisions share equally £2million p.a. on top of tv revenue - the latter being split 16 ways: 14 shares, 1 to each SL club - 1 share between all the Championship clubs. Hope we are getting our share.
The report recommends an explosion in committees!

Considering Lewis announced a 30% CUT to Championship 1 clubs from the RFL for 2013 before he scarpered I hope that is re-addressed otherwise there may not be a C1 in the very near future!
Fair and equal distribution across the whole of Rugby League is the only way the lower leagues will survive!

Fair does not necessarily mean equal. SL would argue its their games that are televised (in the main) so they deserve more of the TV pot. IF SL didnt exist neither would the TV contract. So the argument is about what is fair.
