Out of interest, are there any teams who would be interested in playing in a merit league in the NW this winter?
We weren't able to send a representative to tonights league meeting but we were going to propose that there was some kind of merit league this autumn/ winter.
I know that there are clubs in a similar position to us - meaning that our players want to play more rugby - and most of our players want to continue after the season ends, which unfortunately, is in a couple of weeks time.
We've spoken to the NWC about this winter, but it looks like most of the teams will be of a higher standard than our team at the present time and we wouldn't want to expose our young team to the risks that that brings.

Thanks. Yes, we've done that. We had hoped to send someone along to the NW clubs meeting last night and propose it but, weren't able to in the end. I spoke to the RFL shortly before the meeting and asked if the issue could be raised.

Sure you will find clubs that require a freindly, our 2nds did last year.
Carlsberg don't do Soldiers, but if they did, they would probably be Brits.<div align='center'></div>

Thanks. Ideally they won't be friendlies, they arent a good selling point. Neither is a merit league TBH as a lot of players who have been down to us this year understand a merit league to be the same as friendlies but, as we have a young squad it's probably going to be the best fit for us at the moment.
