What do you think the answer is?

It must be simple for coaches on a match day against us, his team talk would be something like this, just go down the knights right hand side and you will score every time, simples.
And how long do we have to ask for players to run onto the ball, ala Leigh, it works and is proven, but do we even attempt it do we ...t
Let's get Thornton in now, and do whatever with the coaches we have now, sorry rambo but its not working.
Crowds are going down drastically, how many would be ther on Sunday if all the Leigh fans had not of travelled, 200 if we were lucky.
Let us try and get a bit of pride into our team.
Those are my personal thoughts, what's yours

because he's just one of 3 coaches, he just gets the shi**y job of having to explain
the match day performances in the bar, on the radio & in the Press after the game.
Ok, I'm biased because I know in very great detail the time & effort the coaches are putting in -
e.g. straight after the game Sunday night and lunch times at work, time spent 'tagging' every
single player in every single game to give feedback to players who hopefully might listen to try
& cut out the basic mistakes they keep making, whether some players are prepared to listen
may be another matter...
One more point, forwards running onto the ball, been to plenty of reserve games, have heard
the comment 'why don't the 1st team hit the ball like that'.
Who coached the reserves last season & still helps out now??

It's a shame when fans are asking the players to "show some pride in the shirt", but this has been asked for all season! It's quite plain that the current crop of players simply are not got enough for this level of rugby league, wholesale changes need to be made in the close season on the playing front and if judged by results and performances then the coaching side, no matter how hard they work, must also go. Thorton should be able to bring in the players and coaches he wants as for the past two seasons in the Championship the Knights have ony won SIX games! We don't want to end up in the no mans land of the Championship One.
Think most of that will happen anyway, think it would be difficult to bring Gary Thornton in early with Chris
still coaching & playing, and we don't have the numbers to be able to afford losing Chris now.
Also could argue what's the point in bringing Gary in to help coach a load of players that probably
won't be here next season & most people want rid of??

The answer? Nothing I haven't said before...
Sack off the dual-registration farce.
Bring in a decent coach with good contacts (Noble or Gary Thornton for me). - Lovely stuff!
Sign good, experienced players in key positions, allowing for a settled team formation.
I haven't seen enough of the 2012 team to judge who should be kept on, but if we stick to our guns with the points above, it should go some way to seeing a winning team back at York. Easier said than done I know, but its not rocket surgery.
Paul Jackson, Danny Orr and Ryan Hudson (now retiring) at Castleford are all available... I wonder if they get on well with GT?
Also a permanent half back partnership is a must. Danny Nicklas & Danny Orr maybe?
I think these are the kind of experienced players York should be after to help the young lads like Bush and Garside prosper. Any others?
Former York favourite Jason Golden is out of contract too...
Ross Potter will hopefully do his bit and sell the potential of the club to the sponsors, now the fans just need to do their bit too. Otherwise, none of the above will be happening...

''its important for Chris to focus on his immediate job & enjoy the last few games of
his playing career''.
Can't argue with that - lets give him 100% support for those last few games.

The current coaching set up have had all but 4 games of the Championship campaign to get it right so the only option to me is to change it somehow.
The lack of effort at times is what is most annoying.

I would bring Gary Thornton in with immediate effect but that is clearly not going to happen.

This season is over as far as the Knights are concerned, the coach is leaving and it looks like the vast majority of players will be also be going as they just ain't good enough. As for playing for pride?

Col, You said wo coached the reserve team, you have obviously not been to many this season, less you would know they havnt won a game all season.Ian, can't argue with your points there, but theres no need to say sorry to Rammo
because he's just one of 3 coaches, he just gets the shi**y job of having to explain

The under 18s, thats a differant story, great set of lads, pride, passion and skill and the want to be succesfull.
I know Rammo and Im not having a go at him, but when you bring a coach in to elp the defence, MC and its got worse, well what do you do????

is reserves coach now can't make it.
Think back to such as Big Jack & Adam as names always mentioned as 'should be in the 1st team' -
have they got fit enough or improved enough for this standard of rugby? - Simple answer in No.
Jacks just not fit enough & Adam stops when he hits the opposition - 2 things that are in their own hands
to sort out.
Deano's comments are spot on - not sure what the figures are, but did Woodsy & Dicko have a better
defensive structure last season? - Answer - probably not.
Yes we did win more games, a lot of which was due to having a class half back called Thackery.

This might surprise everyone, but YCK are still *46.41% **better in 2012 than they were in 2011. Granted at their peak they were *223.05% better than 2011 but hey, we're not worse. Problem is, everyone else is better still.not sure what the figures are, but did Woodsy & Dicko have a better

*Based on scoreline difference against same 2011/2012 fixture count
**still soul destroying being a YCK supporter, despite the maths.
Maths is the only thing keeping me sane right now. If anyone else would like to remain sane, I've attached my spreadsheet.
Also, I am aware I am a geek, no need to reiterate

There are three types of lie: lies, damned lies and statistics. The most important one is - Won 1 lost 13.

What is there to lose changing the coaching staff now ? Absolutely nothing, so go for it IMO.
At the risk of repeating myself, whats the point of bringing in new caoching staff to:
1. Coach players who probably won't be here next year.
2. Coach players that the experts on here say are not good enough & don't want them here next season.

3 to assess the players and see if it was the coaching that they were getting is the reason for them playing so bad what's there to lose Thorman going rammo lap dog and cook for me not done the job he was brought in for.
Not having that, one of the blokes named there has done more for York RL than you'd ever be able to do. Including playing for the club when it was on it's last legs and helping out when other coaches decided to behave like kids and get suspended. There should be a job for Rammo as long as he wants one and is capable of doing it, regardless of what a few ill informed supporters think.
