Don't know, but wouldn't be surprised if Hood disappears into the same void by the time our coach has done with him. :o

For a start, Aston Wilson is a player we got because he was going off the rails at leeds off the field from what i read, unfortunatly after less than 30mins with the rams i dont think he plays proffesional rugby anymore but this is purely down to the player not Warren.

Exactly, somepeople seem to just want to blame the coaching staff for everything.

The lagers rubbish in the southstand bar, Lets BLAME THE COACHING STAFF!!

Aston was a player who unfortunatly had off the field problems, thats no fault of our club or coaching staff

Don't think I actually blamed WJ for Wilson leaving the game, but he does seem to have a habit of killing off the potential of young players. Hood has gone from being the next England hooker to somebody no better than the underated Tebb, Southernwood has gone back to the Bulls to resurrect his career, before that it was Horton, Haynes, Bibb and Hodgson (who kept out Craven for the first half of last season without ever looking in the same class) and I'm sure there must be others. To his credit he has developed Faal has into a good player, but who else has improved under his tuteledge ? - craven and Esders were already excellent players. As for the lager in the south stand - if WJ is to blame I'm sure he'll be quick to blame the barstaff for not sticking to the gameplan - or the referee. ;)

I have it on very good authority that all the lager, in all of the bars, is fine, having been passed by the management.

Keegan Hirst arrived at Dewsbury for a second spell after failing to make an impact in Championship 1 with Hunslet. A couple of years later he was signed by a former England coach and is probably one of the best props outside of the Super League now.

Liam Finn signed for Dewsbury about a stone overweight and having failed to make any sort of impact in the Super League with Wakefield, or National League One with Featherstone. He has since returned to his old club and has been the best player in the comp for the last two years

James Lockwood signed for Dewsbury straight from the amateur game and during his time at the club developed into a top quality mobile second-row forward. He's another who's now one of the best in his position outside of the Super League.

Anthony England came to Dewsbury with a reputation as a penalty machine, released by Cas and having completed two pretty uninspiring spells on loan at Batley and Gateshead. He'll be propping in a Northern Rail Cup final this weekend.

Bryn Powell signed for Dewsbury after being told he was surplus to requirements at relegated Featherstone. He played some of the best rugby of his career with the Rams and many considered it a great loss when he decided to hang up his boots at the end of last year.

Luke Blake had struggled to make an impact with Hunslet in Championship One before he signed for the Rams. Last year we had to fend off advances form Halifax to keep him at the club.

Adam Robinson was plucked from Championship 1 and, though injury prone, is another who'll be playing in a Northern Rail Cup final on Sunday after kick-starting his career at Dewsbury.

James Craven left Batley after failing to get into their first team and returned to Thornhill. Dewsbury signed him and he's now rated as one of the best full-backs in the Championship.

Ironically, the one name you do mention - Ayden Faal - was already a good player. He was just playing with a hole in his stomach for his first few months with the club.

Not trying to split hairs here Tom, but you could give Andy Kelly the credit for some of aforementioned, and if the batley faithful are to be believed, Keegan Hirst has added more to his game in his short spell at Batley than he ever did in his second spell at Dewsbury. Luke Blake hasn't looked half the player he was before his injury, and robinson already was a good player albeit injury prone - like spicer in fact. Can't argue with you about Craven (didn't he also have trials with Dewsbury), but the way he was treated much of last season it's a wonder he is still with us. And it doesn't alter the fact that Hood and Southerwood, arguably two hot prospects, have gone backward.

When Southernwood was signed by Bradford in 2010 he was rated as the outstanding player of his age group. The Wakefield fans were fuming that the club had allowed him to leave, while the Bulls were readying him for an imminent Super League debut. But since then he's struggled to put on size and has had it pretty bad with injuries

He was sent to Dewsbury to revive his career, but to say he's gone backwards since he joined us isn't fair on the coaching staff, and to pin the blame entirely on Warren is crazy!

Some players drop down a division and it turns out to be a great career move - Steve Crossley would be one example - but others don't make the transition so well, and find the difference between under 20s and playing against grown men every week too great.

Just my opinion, of course. :)

His decision to come back on after his injury may have bordered on the foolhardy, but that one act showed the lad's huge courage and commitment to the team. He was already my player of the season along with AB.Hope they pull out all the stops to keep him at the rams, but I can already feel the vultures circling. :o

He'd stay for the right deal (including the coach). I reckon he's appreciated the support and opportunity that we gave him and will feel some loyalty towards the club.

Whoever coaches the team next year resigning Crossley should be a high priority.

I'm sure he would stay if we can afford to give him a decent offer - but I would be surprised if he hasn't crept above the SL radar already, and realistically, no player with ambition would turn that down.

What happened to Gordon Fifita, the blockbusting 'dual international'??
What I'm looking for is someone who can contribute to what England has given to the world: culture, sophistication, genius. A little bit more than an 'ot dog, know what I mean?
