Myton have indeed tried to ask the league and clubs for fixtures on these weeks but nothing forthcoming. they certainly want to be playing as doing ok in the league but everything is stop start play a week miss a week, so can't get a run going!

if that is the case you should be getting on to the club rep's to sort it out, it is not acceptable that you have free weeks then they expect you to travel or play midweek when clubs are available to play on weekends of backlog dates and these clubs have refused you.

But it isn't a free weekend - it is clearly allocated in the calendar as Backlog Fixtures. Hence Myton should have played oner of the 2 backlog fixtures they have versus Rose Bridge.

Back logged fixtures in the summer  didn't the RFL sell their takeover of the amateur game on the back of sunshine, better bar takings, more players, family days.......................................fed up of it all really. Time will tell (The money tree at the RFL will dry up as they direct their (Our) cash towards their next project (feeder clubs around the UK)
Carlsberg don't do Soldiers, but if they did, they would probably be Brits.<div align='center'></div>

Totally agree the only free weekend in the fixture list is the wembley weekend.

Hope they do Marauder and then you may leave us NCL clubs to get on with our league and you can then have a moan at the feeder clubs instead.

Dose that mean we have to be available 24,/ 7 ? They is a lot of clubs that should look at there selves before they come on about fixtures because unless it suits the opposing team it will never happen !

Why summer?

It’s a good question. Sport England evidence shows that winter based team sports are in decline and summer individual sports are on the up. During the 2010-11 winter season over 1,000 games were postponed. So switching to a summer league means less cancellations, better playing conditions, firmer grassier pitches, more spectators, more bar takings and an overall increase in the quality of the game.

I would like to see a comparison to their claims once the first season is complete, I do suspect they will be far different to what they sold the Summer switch to the Clubs on, possibly worse in comparison to the conventional Sept - May season in some instances.
