Fantastic news for the club and well done to the BOD for achieving this milestone.

Sounds like good news but as I've never seen any balance sheet for the club (and I don't necessarily have the right to) nor have any idea of the scale of this debt then it's a bit difficult to judge.

On the other hand GFDU might simply have cleared his bar tab.

This must feel like a weight has been lifted from the club.

I can remember the members meeting when it said that the debt (some £800K - I think) would potentially have to be split amongst the members (of which I was one).

So if the club is now debt free then you have to take you hat off to Mr Sawyer and his cronies. Hopefully he will continue to have the best interests of the club at heart and not be tempted to make a quick buck by selling development land for personal gain like was done by previous regimes!! - allegedly.

Think it is safe to say Mark has the best interests of the club at heart. Think he is well out of pocket and the chances of making money out of the Rams is next to zero.

I hope this is the case, however when/if the development of the site ever takes place then potentially it could prove quite lucrative.

Does anyone know how this is progressing?

I dont know mark Sawyer at all, but nothing I have seen or heard over the last few years makes me think he might be around to make a few bob. In fact if it wasnt for MS I reckon we wouldnt even have a team and we all owe him a great deal of gratitude.

Seconded - I have also come to the conclusion that his contribution to the club is purely altruistic. If people can't even make money out of a heavily subsidised SL what the hell has MS got to gain financially from a tiny championship club like the Rams. Unless I'm mistaken, the terms of Dewsbury's lease wouldn't allow MS to sell the ground for anything other than a sports facility anyway.

Me too.

Regarding Rambo's comment I don't believe that any previous regime made personal gains from any developments, unless you know better. Incompetence, definitely, but corruption, no I don't think so.

Good on yer Dewsbury, showing the SL up, even if it a small amount by their standards, a profit is a profit.

Good old Championship does it again, no wonder that lesser SL teams would like to get in with us(lol).
