Christ on a bike!
A fitting finale to the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games would be Danny Boyle swinging from a scaffold.

Why? I've found it to be great up to now, Stunning to look at and to listen to. I'd say only the British would have the stones to do a ceremony like that and to pull it off.

Why? It may not be as visually stimulating as Beijing, arguably, but it represents what we should be proud of in our country, initiative and experiment, and isn't it great to see someone stand out and shout for the NHS. I bet Cameron loved that!!

This country is one of very few across the globe that has such a rich history, that it can undertake this kind of display.

Yup.
Understandable why exxile is choking on his Daily Mail subscription.
For everyone else: pretty much all that is good about this country.

Been great so far!
With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!

Unless you happen to be of Indian, Pakistani or maybe Bangladeshi 'heritage' (is that term still appropriate?). Not much in it for them, unless it happened whilst I went for a leak.

So far tory MP's, exxile and the EDL seem to of been upset by it.

I'm annoyed by French having priority over English. FFS.

Having heard extracts from the Dambusters March & Enola Gay, wondering when the theme from Zulu will be played ?

Did I get the opening ceremony theme right - Isambard Kingdom Brunel was responsible for the industrial revolution ?

The crowning ###### from the land of Henry Purcell, Elgar, Holst, and Delius are some people called the Arctic Monkeys.
If the rest of the world didn't realise just how far the UK had sunk, they will be under no illusions now.
