To me it has to go this way......To Start the year the club championship game, (NRL vs Super League Champions) followed by an NRL All Stars vs NRL Indigenous game. Then a 20 to 26 team comp where everybody plays each other once.

Then a 10 team finals series, when that is over A city vs Country Game, followed by a 6 team origin series involving NSW, QLD and 2 Kiwi teams (North and south Island) as well as 2 teams from English Super League (Exils and Super League Originals).

Then Four nations or World Cup games or Test Matches.

It is evident the game has to grow in the Southern Hemisphere what are some of the other ideas on how it should go

The game here in the UK is at a crossroads. The problems at Bradford Bulls are well documented and still not resolved. The administrator started off very stridently assuming the club was too big to be allowed to close. He's now crawling about on his knees begging for money from the RFL to pay the August wage bill at Bulls while he's still struggling to find any plausible offer for the club that the game will accept. Some people in the game here question the name "Super" League when the overall standard is inconsistent to say the least. There's talk by one or two people of reducing it to 10 teams so as to improve the quality and competitiveness.
The game in Oz is relatively well off and attracting big sponsors - I know there are clubs with financial difficulties but you can bet your bottom dollar there nothing compared to the Bradford or maybe more clubs.
Rearranging and improving your set up is a great position to be in.
Money talks, but lack of it hurts.

No matter how much sense it makes they won't ever move State of Origin from the mid-year position. Nor will they tinker with it by adding more teams.
