Could it be something to do with this?

http://www.totalrl.c...cademy-changes/

Announcing a deal with maybe Leeds would be a big coup for the club, particularly if we get some of their young starlets in return.

If it is linked to this, I hope it goes better than the alleged link up we have had with Huddersfield in the past, which Jermaine and Alex Brown aside, was a waste of time.

Thoughts anyone?

If this is true and we basically become an academy team I will no longer be a season ticket holder at batley. Balls to that.

I think any link up would mean we get more promising youngsters in the championship once theyve progressed beyond the under 19s and a possible end to the dual reg fiasco.

Could also bebefit clubs in our division financially as surely we'd get a slice of the super league clubs income?

Does appear though that the powers that be are wanting feeder clubs for the elite league.

Sounds a bit similar to what goes on in the NRL.

Initial thoughts: Not keen on the idea. Could end in younger fans moving away from the Championship side to go watch their more glamorous bigger brother. I for one think Batley should be it's own club, with it's own team, in it's own right.

For it to work out we would need to be paired up with Leeds, but if this does happen I can see it being Wakefield because of the Kear connection. I think having Bradford or Giants as our BIG TEAM would be a waste of time.

So for now, NOT A FAN. I For one would need some persuading.

If this is the news we have 8 players signed on for next year so we wont become just a feeder club. Im going for a Bulldogs fan has won 84million on the Euros and Nigel Wood is gonna be on his knees on the pitch at half time begging us to join Superleague.

could be a good thing if least we get to keep a few of the players coming thru the ranks from u 15-19. could upset a decent side if theres too much swopping and chucking and players not knowing if they will get a game due to all the extra younger players so who knows, i thought announcment might a been a pound a pint.or ians got some ice. or better still barlows signed. :D

I'd heard we've had a bid to take over Dewsbury Rams accepted (£8.47 btw). We are going to rename them the Dewsbury Puppies, feeder club to the mighty Doggies! B)

I'd say there's 0% chance of this announcement being linked to an official 'link-up' with a SL club. I just don't think our chairman would ever go for such an arrangement.
What I'm looking for is someone who can contribute to what England has given to the world: culture, sophistication, genius. A little bit more than an 'ot dog, know what I mean?

We were never a feeder club for Huddersfield. Getting into a DR deal is very different.

Certainly quashes my feeder club theory!

When did this happen? I'm very forgetful, maybe you could be remind me? As BatleyfanAndy recalls, we had an arrangement to take some players from Huddersfield on dual registration, but I don't remember us becoming their feeder club. We're certainly not now, anyway. When did our feeder club status end? Perhaps you could write your answer in bold print, with the key words highlighted in a bright colour.

Stuff being connected to Super league clubs, I personally hope it is Morley Waste Traders will continue Backing Batley next season and beyond (or a similar company)

Maybe the stadium name as been sponsored?

'The Morley Waste Ground'.

'The Karl Harrison Interiors Stadium'.

'The Warren Jowitt Mount Pleasant Stadium'.

'The Tetley's Stadium 2'.

'The Omar Khan Mount Odsal Stadium'.

The Lala's & Oasis Joint Venture Stadium Batley'.

'The Fox's Stadium Mount Pleasant'.

'The ABC Consortium Stadium Mount Pleasant Bradford'.

It's got to be one of them!
