Agree that it looks very odd indeed, although it's SL that has stepped in, not the RFL.looks like the rfl have stepped in to save bradford bulls from extinction.i wonder if any clubs below super league were struggling and about to go into admin do you reckon the rfl would help a championship club in the same sort of situation.this really could only happen in rugby league.bradford have been getting super league money for god knows how many years and have now also sold there ground but still havent learnt there lesson.this franchise system is working really well when the top clubs are going bust the rfl must be keeping a really close eye on the top clubs spending.lol absolute joke
Not sure about this at all. It sets a very odd precedent and suggests the SL clubs want to keep the club in SL longer-term. I hope that the RFL reject the offer, as there are a number of conflicts of interest in this, both with individuals and companies, and it just isn't right.
It's worth noting that the RFL have helped Championship clubs in similar situations in the recent past. Rochdale (bought their share of the ground), Keighley (think they invested in the ground) for instance IIRC.

The club where Eurovision isn't a dirty word. A waltz through the leopard skin lined world of Tom Jones, Bert Kampfert and Burt Bacharach. Step out to the sound of the happy hammond and swing to the seductive sounds of the samba.
DJ's, raffles, cocktails and wide collars. Please dress smart. Gentlemen might like to wear a suit.
Same price. Same music. Same rubbish prizes.

This situation would involve the SL clubs taking over the cost of the club until the season end (I assume the club would be suspended from play-offs if in contention at this point), allowing a more suitable buyer time to come forward. If they don't then the club is allowed to go into administration.
This would protect the competition, and allow a fresh start with a new member next season (or with 13 clubs). It also would be SL clubs money that is used, not RFL money.
But other than as a short term fix, it's not a good idea at all.

As a point to note; since Barrow was handed down the punishment for the 2010-2011 breaches the RFL have been extreemly helpfull especially during the the closed season last year.

Nigel Wood, the CEO of the RFL, must have been shocked when Nigel Wood, Chairman of SL, handed him this proposal.
wow, this buyer has it in the bag then lol this also makes me wonder why the other bids were knocked back. Corrupt

I think it also raises questions over the effectiveness of the auditors/consultants that the RFL called in to help assess the bids. Not sure who they used in 2011, but in the previous cycle I think it was Deloittes. Not a cheap company to employ on such a basis by any stretch of the imagination. As we well know the BRK the RFL can only go on the information given to them and sometimes that some what differs from the real stuff.

Rfl didn't buy Rochdale Hornets shares the old board borrowed money from Rfl and used the shares as collateral when they went onto administration the loan was unpaid so shares have remained with them and as now a cooperative the club is not of a postion to buy them back (yet ) who knows what the future brings
And in doing so the RFL got a three million pound assett for fifty thousand pounds. Not bad bussiness if you can get it.
