Id also try retain Joe Chandler. The nucleus is there for a good team if we can retain the list above and add more quality to it but we will have clubs after Craven and Crossley.

Why olpherts - the lad literally hasn't been given a chance. He looked OK in the friendlies. TBH, I'd only keep buchanan, esders, craven, faal, jones, flanagan, crossley and spicer, the rest aren't good enough to get us into the playoffs. Realistically we'll lose most of the ones I'd keep and sign most of the ones I wouldn't - unless there is a change of coach of course.

A bit unfair on Walker, Tonks and Blake I reckon GOR. Tonks in particular has been outstanding in a couple of recent matches and, without Walker's kicking and tackling we would be in dire straights.

Good goalkicker yes - good stand off no - half back has been a weak link since we were promoted. Blake is a shadow of the player he was before injury last year, and tonks seems a bit erratic, although on his day he is OK. How many of the players I would release do you think would be approached by any of the top six clubs. Of course if we are just looking to survive again next season, I reckon they'll do a job.A bit unfair on Walker, Tonks and Blake I reckon GOR. Next season could bring lots of changes if the proposed amendments to the SL academies are implemented, but that thought is just depressing.
I reckon we will be planning to do as well as possible within the constraints of an affordable budget, which will mean targeting top six but not panicking if we fail to achieve that. When the season comes to a close the clubs will be in the same order in the league, approximately, as their expenditure on players.

walker is not a stand off, never will be. luke blake also is not good enough. tonks i agree has been good in last couple of games. add to that list spaven who also isnt good enough. akidere today was dreadful, why he has made starting line up is beyond me. new coach is needed badly and get rid of matt walker and adam hayes too. new ideas and approach is needed otherwise it will be same old.

The depressing thing is that I think survival will be the main objective next season and top six a faint but not unatainable hope. Still, who cares, I'll have my favourite combination - the continued existence of my beloved club and something to moan about.Next season could bring lots of changes if the proposed amendments to the SL academies are implemented, but that thought is just depressing.

Exactly! The only fundamental requirement - as long as we don't become a SL nursery club in the process that is.

If some of the fev posters are to be belived, at least two of our player of the season candidates are going - can't help but think more will follow. I suppose it will depend on the quality of their replacements.A better coach and with the squad that you have a top 6 place would have been a realistic achievement this season. In terms of playing staff, you should have be aiming for the top 4 in 2012.
