Yes but with 18 applicants only 10 need to meet criteria for normal promotion and relegation to apply. So I suspect they'll ensure that happens.
PS my 'wrong guess' about the demise of the Yorkshire League seems to be happening.

It does seem that around 10 / 11 will be recommended, making a smooth transition.Yes but with 18 applicants only 10 need to meet criteria for normal promotion and relegation to apply. So I suspect they'll ensure that happens.

How's your campaign of influencing club delegates going?
BTW, I have a broken watch that is right twice a day, which is still a far higher average than yours.

Better to make 100 guesses and have 90 right than sit around and make none but sneer at the other person the 10 times they're wrong plus another 10 times when they're right. It does seem that around 10 / 11 will be recommended, making a smooth transition.

The only thing that is certain is that it will be 3 down from the Premier Division, after that it is all down to the amount of teams that are voted in. I outlined what the likely outcomes were from my understanding in a post that followed the last delegates meeting and to my understanding nothing has changed. I have copied and pasted it below.
There have been 18 applications/expressions of interest in joining the league (inc. the 3 already recommended Hudds Underbank, Kippax and Nottingham Outlaws).
If only these three are admitted and the others are found to be unsuitable then there would be 44 teams in divisions of Prem 14, Div One 14 and Div 2 16.
The NCL are hoping/aiming to recommend at least 7 clubs in order to reach the target of 4 divisions - 48 clubs (4 divisions of 12)
This would mean 3 down from Prem and 1 up from Div 1. 5 down from Div 1 and 1 up from Div 2, 5 down from Div 2 to join the 7 new clubs.
If 8 or 9 were admitted then "there would be a softening of the restructure process" allowing more promotion and/or less relegation for the Div 1/2 teams.
If there are 10-13 new clubs admitted then the divisions would remain with 3 up three down between Prem and Div 1. Also Div 1 and Div 2. No teams relegated from Div 2 and all new clubs entering at Div 3.
If 14 or 15 new clubs are recommended and admitted then I presume (although this wasn't said) that 13/14 of the new clubs would form Div 3 with one of them entering at Div 2 level. 56 clubs would be the current maximum capacity for a Four Division NCL.
It seems that anything between 4-6 new clubs would not be practical in regards to restructuring.
This is the information as I understood it. The Management Committee are to begin looking at the applications with visits/communication with new applicants happening at the moment. They are aiming to have the process completed in time for the next proposed delegates meeting on 2nd September, with hopefully a vote taking place on that evening in regards to admitting new clubs. The intention of moving the vote forward from the AGM is so clubs know exactly what they are playing for before the season ends.

Anyone know who the 18 applicants are?
Also would Kippax still be recommended after they called off at St Albans?

Looks like Peterlee Pumas have applied though presumably on the basis of getting many of the best amateur players from across the North East.

2013 Division structure announced
08th August 2012, 16:37
At last night’s meeting of the National Conference League Management Committee, it was confirmed that the Premier and First Divisions will continue with 14 clubs each for season 2013, and that there will be three teams relegated from the Premier and First Division to the relevant lower division at the end of the 2012 season.
There will also be three teams promoted from the First and Second Divisions to the relevant higher division at this time.
This is in line with all previous seasons in the National Conference League and with the comments made by the Chairman at the start of the 2012 summer season, when he outlined the worst and best case scenarios that could influence the continued growth of the League and which would facilitate new members of the right quality.
The Management Committee are also currently reviewing the applications of the 18 clubs that have applied for membership of the League in 2013, to ascertain the suitability of those clubs and their compliance with the NCL membership criteria.
Upon completion of this process the current member clubs will be informed of the clubs (if any) that the Management Committee recommend for membership, and also the number of clubs that will operate within Division Two, as well as any plans for a new Division Three that may operate in 2013.
I trust this is clear and apologise for the delay in confirming this information which was necessary due to the implementation of the NCL's application for new membership process.

That's all you do. GuessStill think I make wrong guesses?
From the minutes 25th June. (my emphasis).
It was reiterated that the NCL is committed to having a minimum of 48 teams next season in four divisions
The maximum the NCL will operate is four divisions of 14 teams..
So, it was never decided to be 12 per division, so they haven't decided against it.
It's a small but important distinction if you can see it.
All they have done, chiefly at the insistence of East Leeds chairman Pete Longbottom, is confirm the actual promotion / relegation numbers, instead of all the vague scenarios based on the members vote.

Incidentally the wording of the press release implies Nottingham, Underbank and Kippax are no longer automatically recommended for admission. I think the whole structure of any additional division(s) at tier 3 (whether a part of the NCL or otherwise) is being considered carefully
