Four words come to mind,Pride,Passion,Pain,Pleasure, all experienced by our GB,Atheletes,Cyclists,Rowers, but to name a few,you saw in the faces of each and everyone of them what it meant to win and lose, two rowers showed the world thier emotions on not getting the Gold medal after giving thier all in the final of thier pairs race,it was my pleasure to witness such a historic day of sport for team GB,
My somewhate dissapointment was to hear that our GB Football teams went out of the Olympics, but we have come to expect the results of this Overpriced,Overpaid,Overrated Sport, why do the people in this country pay the price and get very little return in supporting what as become a BORING GAME,that takes all but gives no return, all of the current medal winners are dedicated to thier own sports and worked hard day in day out, something that the football players seem to lack,as they get back to thier millionaire lifestyle, poor show.

Spot on, I wonder how much training/prctice the British male footballers put in compared to the other olympians in order to be the best in the world? To see the pure joy on the faces of our medalists is a humbling experiance. These guys are putting the GREAT back into Britain! Enjoyed watching the British ladies footballers, who tried a dam sight harder then their male counter parts

90% of these Olympians are true sports people who rely on sponsors to suppliment income and lottery funding, very few make it to the top of
thier sport but continue to compete, one word as brought football to a very poor status "GREED", I for one don't miss the attending of major football games or even watch on TV,i've seen more flair in a pair of 70's trousers, lets hope Rugby League does'nt get any worse with the word GREED in mind.

Brilliant day for our athletes. It's about time we dropped the "It's the taking part that counts" mentality in our schools and teach our kids how to win.I dont imagine this is a phrase used in countrys like Australia and U.S.A.

6 Gold medals and 1 Silver medal yesterday tells you all you need to know about how good a day it was for Team GB yesterday .
I am a football supporter myself but when it comes to the money debate about footballers wages i have always been one that thinks it is wrong to pay footballers more than the army and emergency services but that is another debate.

The majority of the athletes who've been on show for GB are also superb role models for young people - unlike a lot of the brattish, arrogant high profile footballers who are thrust in our faces every day by the round ball worshipping media. Sadly, with the Premier League starting again in only a few weeks, along with the ridiculous over exposure it gets in the media, I fear that the wonderful images of the overjoyed Ennis and Farah will be replaced in the public psyche by the sneering face of John Terry and the potty mouthed gurning of Wayne Rooney.
What I'm looking for is someone who can contribute to what England has given to the world: culture, sophistication, genius. A little bit more than an 'ot dog, know what I mean?
