No other word to describe today. And we won the second half 6-4. Never stopped trying.

Agreed, dreadful conditions today although both teams did well to say to complete the full 80 mins. Thought the ref was going to play till 60 mins then blow up. Can anyone confirm if that was the match commisioner who came out and spoke to the ref whilst Leigh were taking that kick at goal? If it was, i wonder what the conversation consisted off!! Personally thought Kainy was excellent again at the back and yatesy again never took a backward step and never missed a tackle. Both great efforts

Conditions in the 2nd half kept the scoring a lot closer.

well i went to the watersplash final between leeds and wakey in 68 when don fox missed that kick in the final minite but today was worse, ive never seen anything like it and it became downright dangerous with the thunder and lightning plus the flooded pitch and running track. The game should have been stopped on 60 mins and awarded to Leigh imo.As for the game Duffy murdered us and had a hand in every try apart from the 2nd when Ridyard put in the iinch perfect kick.We get mullered at half back every week but when youre up against playmakers like Duffy, Black, Handforth, Thorman, Obst and Watson its pretty obvious whats going to happen.Finding a scrum half to go alongside Grimmer is the no1 priority for next season.

Yes conditions in the second half prevented our comeback.----- and yes it was the match comm who went out to talk to the referee probably reminding him that if you stop the game under 60 minutes it has to be replayed, over 60 minutes the result stands--- but the safety of the players must take priority--- I'm sure one clap of thunder came from under the stand roof.
another game where the visiting officials said they felt sorry for us--- I don't want other clubs feeling sorry for us I want us to sort it out ourselves.

Well, at least watching water polo at Hunslet is a lot cheaper than watching it at the Olympics :) ...

Looked like we weren't too bad at it either! Of course we would have been looking at a bigger defeat without the tropical typhoon, but we did actually seem to handle the conditions a little better than Leigh in the second half.

In the Rugby League half of the game, same old story I'm afraid. Two or three decent half-chances created and blown, and some poor defence on at least three tries, though when the best four players on the field had Leigh jerseys on with 6, 7, 9 and 13 on their backs, there's only ever going to be one outcome.

Pretty sure that if the downpour had happened an hour earlier the game would have been called off.

Remember how well we defended under Marchy? I was confident we could hold 18 tackles on our own line. Remember Halifax away on the telly last season? We used to drag our opposition over our own line. Now we tackle like school kids. The opposition are 30% bigger than us but surely we can be coached to defend better?

AT LAST-- someone else is saying what I've been saying all season.
Yesterdays game was controlled by the Leigh no's 6 7 and 13, and they knew how to play the obstruction game.
6 7 and 13 are the golden trio for any team-- so far for next season we've got our No 6, only two more to arrive.

When the lighning hit the floodlights the whole stadium shook with the force of the hit. My boy had to come in and get changed as he was like a drownded rat. Thankfully he was loaned some kit to change into, needless to say he thought it better to stay inside than return to his ballboy duties.
