Three Super League players charged

Three players have been charged with disciplinary offences committed during Stobart Super League Round 23 fixtures last weekend.

Paul McShane of Widnes Vikings has been charged with the Grade B offence of use of the forearm in a tackle on Bradford Bulls player Brett Kearney in the 52nd minute.
Dean Collis of Wakefield Trinity Wildcats has been charged with the Grade B offence of making a dangerous throw on Castleford Tigers prop Stuart Jones in the 31st minute.
Joe Westerman of Hull FC has been charged with the Grade B offence of making a reckless high tackle on Epalahame Lauaki of Wigan Warriors in the 66th minute.

The players were charged after the incidents were viewed by the RFL Match Review Panel earlier today. All three have until 11.00am on Tuesday August 7 to submit an Early Guilty Plea.

The Match Review Panel also issued formal cautions to the following players:
- Steve Snitch (Castleford Tigers) – tripping Danny Kimono of Wakefield Trinity Wildcats in the 3rd minute.
- Sam Tomkins (Wigan Warriors) - kicking out in a tackle by Jamie Foster of Hull FC in the 57th minute.

Years ago:
Most weeks, Bradford Northern got at least one penalty because somebody would foul Gary Christie ... the only little bloke in the team and the only one with any real pace.

Years later:
Brett Kearney is filling exactly the same role.

Good to see Ryan Bailey got away with the knee to the head of a player on the floor. RL you can't make it up.

On 13/2/2013, Hull City's owners the Allams, released a statement in their position as the owners of the KC Stadium Management Committee. One line in this statement read as follows....

"The SMC's principal responsibility is to remain neutral"
