I wonder if Tonys appointment is just until the end of the season?

Must be good if he can develop young players with just a 3 game contract.

Hes not there to develop your young uns is he? I thought broadbent brought him in to be his assistant? If he is there for your young uns you have got a cracking coach to bring your young uns through.

Good post rambo and if that is the case broadbent must be a permanent coach.Because whoever takes the job im sure will want their own assistant.

Christ this is hard work and he has not started yet. To summarise

We need a coach for three games starting this Sunday
He has to be immediately available and be Grade 3 qualified and be willing to do the job, which cuts the field down.
To invite applications, draw up a short list, interview, negotiate terms for a successor will take a couple of weeks at least.
If Mark Sawyer gets a better Coach applying than Broadbent then Mark will appoint the best man
Seems fairly simple and better than rushing and appointing quickly and regretting it
One reason I expect that quite a few will apply is that they know Mark will back them. Loyalty to coaches has its long term benefits.

Not as exciting as conspiracy theories I know but seems sensible approach

Looks like one of his assistants will be Tony Drury. Wakey fans seem to think he has done a good job with the youngsters. Looks a good appointment.

http://www.wakefield...y-post/2012/08/

So he leaves a permanent position at Wakefield to help at Dewsbury for three games.

Hmmmmmmmmmm.

I guess it's true some people aren't happy if they don't have conspiracy theories to stimulate the little grey cells.

Mark will be thrilled that he is being all-but called a liar.

Lets be clear about this.

THE RFL RULES ARE THAT A HEAD COACH IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP HAS TO BE QUALIFIED TO A MINIMUM GRADE 3 LEVEL.

Which part of that is difficult to understand.

Rambo - most ageing players are not qualified to do the job.

PD was one of a very small number of suitably qualified coaches who is currently not contracted to a club.
As we are Dewsbury Rams and not Featherbury Ramovers, the club would not approach anyone who was already
under contract at another club!

Mark Sawyer has stated that this is an interim appointment and that a shortlist will be drawn up when
further applications have been received. Mark is a man of his word and any suggestions of lip-service or
protocol is a downright insult in my view.

Please all wait until the full appointment is made and then those of you who moan for England can do so at their
leisure.

That would have been a good enough answer withour the lecture. Thanks for clearing it up. B)

Don't see that anybody has suggested that mark is a liar, and actually, as he owns the club he can dammedwell do what he likes. Before having the good fortune to retire, I had to set somebody on in a senior position on an interim basis. I had several candidates to choose from, most of whom had the necessary academic qualifications, and chose the one who I thought was best able to do the job. If interviews had been necessary he would have got the job there and then, and so it proved when the real deal came along. I still had to go through the time consuming process of formal interviews, but he and everybody else knew, that as person already in position, he was red hot favourite. All I'm saying is, that yes it's sensible and sometimes compulsory to look at all the candidates, but often you already know the winner.

dont think anybody here as called mark a liar at all
and john im sure your wise enough the realise in business distortions of the truth do happen
when legal protocols have to be observed (I.E highering & firing)
im sure in your office & many places of work people have been given positions on a interim basis.
only for that person to get the job..weve all attended the university of life and some dont swallow
everything their fed.
always believe everything happens for a reason in life and dont believe in coincidence.

i think some questions people are stuggling with and are adding their own answers to justify the question

Q1 why would someone give up a position for a 3 game stint !!

Q2 all interim coaching staff seem to be coming from one super league club ?

Q3 (not sure on this one but somebody will put me right im sure ;) )
changes coming regarding academy for super league clubs ?

Q4 is there a possible tie-up in the future with a certain super league club...that still aint got a new ground yet

and im sure many people on here have their own questions their asking themselves

nothing to do with conspiracy theories...just some people aint that nieve to think
that their told the whole truth all the time....and a person that does

will be wearing a batley shirt for sure or simple

whichever is applicable ;)

ANOTHER QUOTE FROM RL FANS, WAKEFIELDS FANS FORUM ABOUT PAUL BROADBENT....

THEY SEEM TO RATE BOTH HIM AND DRURY??

Cant believe he was overlooked for the Wakey job to be honest. He seemed to get the players we had to play to their ability and beyond in ridiculously difficult circumstances. Born leader, no nonsense straight down the line sort of bloke that has gone on to get Italy qualified for the world cup. Good luck to him, I wish him every success, if he had an ozzie accent it would be oh so different.

Top class appointments IMO broadbent is class he just has'nt been given the chance and drury is a quality coach at bringing youngsters through.Your BOD need a pat on the back and all the backing from you guys as im sure if they are given as long as WJ as had they will be more successful than WJ.I should'nt say this because my friends at the mount will be on my back but i would rather have broadbent than kear just my opinion though.

I guess this is where my grasp of the english language differs

I thought that if you werent telling the whole truth you were doing the opposite ; )
perhaps i worded my statement harshly.
Hopefully i can articulate my point better over a pint in the Royal Suite this afternoon.
(Thats if i can manage the stairs )

lol john yes the term ''liar'' by you was harsh, which we all know mark aint

but to lets say ''not make people privy to all acurate infomation''

that might be better ;)

i would love to join you in the royal suite after the game....BUT
due to safety issues at the club with the royal suite floor
i dont think it would be a wise move to have us both up there at the same time in close proximity
without suitable lifting equipment readily available

plus its international rescue's day off ;)

On the latter point i am currently under the tutelage of andrew farrow regarding match announcing and music selection , This coming sunday the players of both teams will enter the arena to tchaikovsky`s dance of the sugar plum fairy which you will be at liberty to join in with for both your and our pleasure .

You let me down again GFDU!

That's the last time I come in a specially ironed tutu to a rams game.
