Did anybody hear Brett Finch on Radio Manchester yesterday evening. He seemed to think that he may make the squad, despite not being announced in the 19-man squad? If he is absent, who will be at halfback?

I also predict a flood of childish posts on here.
Rumour going around Headingley that Wire will have to play the second half with 12 men.
It seems that they forgot to bring the half time oranges, and Solomona ate Chris Bridge instead.
Don't know why he was hungry, as he looked as though he had eaten the whole youth team before the game started.

That's a self fulfilling prophecy if ever I read one.

Yep, my unspoken prediction was that you'd be the source of most of them.

Somebody forgot to tell some Warrington fans that previous matches are irrelevant to what happens during the forthcoming 80 minutes. No wonder they had such a defeatist attitude to matches against Saints for so long.Once in 8? Goodness, that does not bode well. I hope we get a bit closer than 16 points down. Over to Messrs Lima, Mossop and Hock to try and hold the mighty Wire forwards.
Today's result depends on how each team turns up on the day. Would feel more confident if Wigan were the team at full strength, but a win still isn't beyond the realm of possibility.

No, most of the childish one will be from you. And you smell of cheese.

Warrington's defensive speed and aggression was superb on Monday but they'll need to show more conviction in attack. I doubt that will be a problem though as without the easy option of targeting Meli they'll focus on mixing it up more. Wigan seem to cope well with injury and the extra two days rest has to be an advantage.
Naturally I hope Warrington take Wigan to the cleaners. I'm not sure that will happen, but I'm fairly optimistic that they'll get the win.

Track records and bogeys are very powerful things. I believe that's one of the reasons that we've been so unsuccessful in internationals for so long. It obviously does depend on how each team performs on the day, but that's something that can easily be influenced by what's gone before.Somebody forgot to tell some Warrington fans that previous matches are irrelevant to what happens during the forthcoming 80 minutes. Belief in bogeys and track records is a sign of mental weakness. Talent, tactics, performance on the day or plain old luck should influence the outcome of a match, not a lack of self belief based upon historical precedent. Even proven winners had to prevail a first time.Track records and bogeys are very powerful things. I believe that's one of the reasons that we've been so unsuccessful in internationals for so long. Maybe so but mental strength/weakness is a major factor and bogeys are a prominent part of sport and do influence results.Belief in bogeys and track records is a sign of mental weakness. If Wigan lose today, then it won't be due to a lack of mental toughness that's for sure. I'd suggest your belief in bogeys and the associated influence is understandable given Saints recent GF record with Leeds, but I see it as more of an excuse for repeatedly not being good enough on the day. Warrington could beat Wigan another 5 times in a row and I still wouldn't believe in a 'bogey' being a major factor rather that they were the better side on each of those meetings.Maybe so but mental strength/weakness is a major factor and bogeys are a prominent part of sport and do influence results.

A litte bit patronising but never mind.If Wigan lose today, then it won't be due to a lack of mental toughness that's for sure. That's a weak example of a bogey because in a Grand Final you're always up against top competition. I suspect Saints do have an Old Trafford mental block of sorts though, much like Leeds are now able to draw on big game experience to get them through. Warrington's record against St Helens prior to 2011 is a better example, as is England/Britain's record against Australia. Warrington were easily the better side in several of those meetings and yet fell apart when the job looked to be done. Mental intensity always plays a role. I can think of plenty of other examples ranging across several sports.
I'm not sure why you claim it's an excuse for not performing? It's nothing of the sort, it's a reason maybe but never an excuse. I also didn't say that if Wigan lose today it will be as a result of mental weakness, I simply think your dismissal of past results is risky business.
Anyhow I'll agree to disagree.
