right, lets talk sheffield tonight.Lets try and play open decent rugby with a few moves and spread the ball wide, no good 5 drives and a boot up in the air.We know its nearly impossible to stop their 3 overseas players and how they afford them i dont know but hey lets give it a go, weve nothing else to lose.I know the weather killed it last week but at least we broke leigh 3 times early on last sunday and thats 3 times more than keighley did last night - they were woeful and with the money that squad is costing i would be well upset if i were a keighley fan.

Cracking effort from 1-17 2nite. We really played well 2nite and maybe apart from a lot of strange decisions from the ref we could have won it. The more I see of liam welham the more I'm impressed with the lad, he just gets better and better. Got to say the big performers 2nite for me were oaksey AGAIN and Luke haigh who has been my player of the year this year
hunslet hawks champions 2010

Well played lads great game and probably the best 65 mins of the season ,the ref did not help in the 2nd half it felt like with help from the ref that hunslet were or should not be winning and no way will they win ....and nice to meet you macca

Luke Haigh causing plenty of damage again tonight and a hardworking display.
We still look weak on the defence - especially around our try line but so did the Eagles.
It's amazing how teams aren't such a threat when you attack THEM - rather than lie down.
A much better performance and worth the admission price and the effort.
We are not off the bottom yet but two games left to rescue something from the season.

By far and away our best performance of the season, we only got beat because Sheff had QLT at full bk and he came away with a couple of big breaks in the 2nd half to get Sheff the win.We actually had Sheff on their line more in the 2nd half than the 1st and were inches away a couple of times to add to the ht score that would have got us out of sight, however as the game went over 60 mins you sensed after we couldnt add to the score that Sheff would get stronger in the last 20 mins...and they did.The ref,s as they do, gave us everything in the 1st half but always even it up and he did giving Sheff everything in the 2nd piggybacking them downfield on 3 or 4 occations when we had them trapped in their own 25 and that was suicidal. We did a great job on Menzie Yere who usually destroys us and gangtackled Stringer and Howieson to stop them offloading out of the tackle, Brown kicked every goal for Sheff where we just missed 2 from far out tries and that was also crucial. All in all a great Team effort and the commitment in the last 5 mins to secure a bonus point when Sheff had all the possesion was immence, i thought we looked far better with Joe Mac at scrum half , Marchy had a great 1st half setting up 2 tries including a marvellous touchline dash by Lee Brickwood that showed how good he could be if he got some quality ball, Haighy did very well to get a try with 3 men on him and Menzies looks the part when he takes the ball up making some good yards. The next 2 games on this performance are winnable IF we produce the same commitment and with Grimmer on the horizon it is now a possability.Well done to everyone last night , the lads gave 110% and a joy to watch.

The effort & commitment last night was first class and Haighy ripped them to shreds in the first 30 minutes. David March was immense first half and had the Eagles defence on toast on their right hand edge on short side plays, Welham & Nathaniel were awesome in defence and Steve Lewis looked a different player in his first half stint, i have been saying for a while now we have some real pace in the backs if we use it correctly and Sheffield scored a try while we were down to 12 men with Dave March laying injured from a previous try in our in goal area. Also a huge turning point was a penalty on the Eagles line against March when he had the ball, very contentious call indeed.
Once again well done all.
Once again well done all.

Typical !! We put on one of our better performances of the season when I'm at a slightly, erm, "higher profile" sporting event taking place 150 miles or so further south ...
As I was expecting another 40-50 point defeat it was a bit of a surprise to see the scoreline, and to get an unexpected bonus point. Even more encouraging to see plenty of positive postings about the performance on here.
Let's hope it's given us the impetus to go on and finish strongly and win at least one of the last two games.

We do seem to have turned things around since the lowpoint of the Featherstone debacle and apart from a mad 10 mins against Halifax when we shipped in 24 points and if we hadnt bombed a few early chances against Leigh we havent actually done bad against 3 top teams in Fax, leigh and Sheff.A bit of a pity really the season is coming to an end!
